Absolutely good idea. A table in front of you, to rest the pistol on between 'strings', just as the Olympic-type shooters do.

No, I think it's brilliant. I should do that. Work it man, you're awesome

Thanks for your input!

Thanks for your input. Probably it is not helpful for Olympic-level shooters, but for the beginners it surely works. Very funny, but attaching 1 kg to spring pistol like low-class IZH 53 , actually improves scores )) "jumping of the pistol" is reduced

The is a reason there is a weight limit to ISSF 10m air rifle. I definitely notice the difference when I add a few grams to my air pistol. You don't have to combine aim practice and strength training. You can just hold a 1kg weight like a dumbell in your outstreched hand and focus on being relaxed and your breathing. 30 seconds or so then change hands.Yes, do both sides if you can. 3-4 sets a few times a week. Not only builds strength and endurance but should help with injury prevention.

71 is not THAT old, btw. In May, I turn 72 - the good Lord willing, that is. I've some wonderful people praying for me & I for them.
Any practice helps, but perfect practice makes for much improved results.
