Please , visit ISSF website and look for the rules and regulations for Seniors. There are rules and pictures how to shoot properly with support. Don't look like "bench-rest" people practice here ))
As far as I know it is also used for kids pistol training. 1) shooting while sitting with support 2) Shooting standing with support 3) shooting standing no support for teenagers that are grown up enough to hold the pistol properly

I went to the ISSF web site but could not find the bench pistol technique you are talking about.
Would you find it and post a link here, please.
I could not find anything in the rules pertaining to seniors or juniors using a rest.

You can just go to www.issf-sports.org and look for "supported rest shooting" there.

Yes, you are absolutely correct and I have no idea why Daryl can't find it )))

Just shooted stock Crosman 1377 (no ups!) supported rest 6 meter distance. Got about 10 x 12 mm five-shots group. Of course, only in one seria )) I think it will be useful to shoot supported rest on regular basis. Probably it will be nice to get 170/200 with 1377 or 180/200 with decent airpistol at first before shifting to "classical" one-arm standing 10 meter according ISSF.
PS. The target is self-made attached to milk-carton )) White squares 5 mm.

Tried to shoot accoding these rules today. Just to train my eyes used 7,5 meter target at 10 meter distance. I have myopia (-5,0 D) plus "beginning level" age-related catharact. Problem seeing bull-eye. Pistol 22 years old IZH46. Front sight is not standing correctly, but at my level it's not very important )) Just need to aim slightly left. Probably it was "my day" today. Got 176/200. Keep in mind that the target was much smaller than standard for 10 meter.
