Hello,
Was in Canadian Tire yesterday and they had an instore clear out price on a new Beeman 78QB.$109
Tried it out today loaded 2 cartridges in tighten the cap loaded a pellet in and first trigger pull air started leaking out the the cap where you load the co2 cartridges and also was leaking through the top of the gun around where you load the pellet.
Tried this a few times thinking I was doing something wrong waisting numerous co2 cartridges.

Very frustrating.

What's going on????

Thanks.

Most likely dirty. I'm willing to bet there is some metal chips embedded in the oring on the tube cap and the valve poppet.
The QC on these Chinese guns can be hit or miss.
They can be great guns, but almost always need some work out of the box.

If you're comfortable taking it apart, you might be able to clean it and get it to seal. If not you'll need new seals.

I know a lot of the forum users like to get "down & dirty" and start taking things apart.

But maybe in this case, the better idea might be to just exchange it for an other one at CT. It probably has a manufacturers warranty which may be voided if you start tinkering, as well CT has a liberal exchange policy, as discussed in a prior post.

If it is the last one, have them send it back for warranty replacement, or ask for a further price adjustment.

I personally would ask to an other one, so you can at least start off with one that is working.

Good point there.
I only wonder if Canadian Tire will exchange a clearance item.

Nope ain't takin it apart.
Not really my thing.
I sent an email to Beeman explained the situation.
But I will probably just take it back to CT.
Too bad as I really like the look and feel of it.
Reminds me of the old .22 my dad and I went rabbit hunting with when I was a kid.

If your local CT does not have any more in stock, maybe see if anyother CT in you area has one in stock & do the exchange there.

Or try to get Beeman to do a warranty exchange.

Going to take it back to CT tomorrow and see what they say.
Past experience with CT with defective merchandise is for them to let the manufacturer handle deal with it but we will see what happens.

Didn't get a chance to take the gun back to CT till today and to my relief they took it back for refund no problem.

I was thinking about ordering another one or get a warranty replacement but after reading numerous reviews of the seal problems I will stay away.

3 of the lads I shoot with in the winter time, have those QB's and love them.

Don't get me wrong I really like the gun but from everything I read over the last couple of days chance getting a good one that doesn't have poor seals and doesn't leak air is like 50/50.
I just didn't want to go through that hassle again.
