I dropped into a local gunshop this afternoon and the owner asked if I knew anything about a rifle he was consigning for a customer. The rifle is a Rohm Twinmaster Desperado CO2 Rifle. It comes with a Leapers 4-16 AO scope, 1-pc scope mount, bipod, and soft case. I'm not at all interested but thought maybe someone here might have an idea what it's worth. I checked online and it seems that Rohm is no longer in business. The customer who owns the rifle claims it was $1200 new (assuming with scope) but I have no idea if this is true. The gunshop owner wants to properly price the rifle.

Here is what the rifle looks like (different optics). The Rohm was made in Germany.

Does anyone know the approximate value? Are the Rohm airguns any good? I'm guessing it originally came from D&L Airgun when they sold Rohm.

I remember these from years ago, sold by D&L.

I almost bought one, but the co2 was a turnoff for me. I believe they retailed for around $800, no scope. There was an option for a guitar style case, like Antonio Banderes had in the Desperado movie as well which I think added a few hundred dollars.

I haven’t seen one since they sold the few they had in stock. Interesting.

I had a quick look through the manual and it said the rifle functions on 12 gram or 16 gram CO2 bulbs. I've never heard of 16g but it looks like ICO Trading has them for a reasonable price.

I still have the Desperado I bought from D.L. must be 16 or 17 years ago. If I recall, the price was $599.00 including scope and bi-pod.
I have only seen one for sale and that was a couple months ago on Canadian air collector. It was only on for a short time and the asking
price was only $250.00. By the time i saw it it was already sold and I would have bought it for that price. I thought it was low for such a rare gun.
It is very accurate but boy is it heavy. Its not much bigger than a CZ200 but with scope and bipod it must weigh close to 10 pounds.

Yah, I thought it was very heavy too. This one has a 4-16AO Leapers scope and one-piece mount. Is that what it came with as a package? Does it come with only one rotating magazine?

It came with only the one cylinder as I recall. The scope mounts were simple two piece and the scope was a no name fixed
magnification. Decent quality though as would be expected from a German co.

I haven't looked at this rifle for a long while so I dug it out of the gun closet for a look. I was wrong, it came with a 3-9X40 scope.
There are no markings on it however. And yes only one magazine cylinder.

I must wonder what the velocity would be in THIS configuration. (the top one)
Appears to be fire able at less than 26" over all length.

The velocity shouldn't change after removing the muzzle brake and butt stock. The rifled barrel is only 12" long. Not sure on the Cdn velocity but I read that it can be 600-700fps on the other side of pond..

Easy for manufacturer to detune for Canadian market. Likely a 495fps rifle. All the Twinmaster pistols were sub-500 for Canada so likely the rifle as well.
