I see some pellet sizer on the market , it really improve the accuracy ?

If it use with standard pellet like crosman wadcutter , Daisy wc ect we can see difference or is just loose of time and money ?

Personally I found Daisy and Crossman pellets are not very consistent in size. So I would think that pellets sizer might help but I prefer to buy better pellets, for example H&N Excite pellets are not overly expensive but they seems to be more consistent and accurate.

Looks that really depends....

In my limited experience, I feed the Daisy wadcutter to my FWB300SU. Although the rifle is really not picky at all and shoots the Daisy well, however the Daisy is not so consistent in both size and weight, I bought the sizers (4.50 and 4.52) and want to improve the performance....

Result looks not good as I didn't see the accuracy being better but just as same as before. And the muzzle speed spreads just like before, didn't see any improvement (maybe it's based on pellet weight more than sizes)...

And what changes is certain? Muzzle speed lowered.

Thinking that's because the skirt size which usually slightly bigger than head size got squeezed down to the size of the sizer and couldn't seal the air as tight as before... The pellets from the smallest sizer got lowest speed.

I also tried it on my cz200 using the 4.52 Exact... Result was similar...

However my shooting distance is just 9 yards and really can't judge the true performance of a sizer could provide... Just for your reference... I am looking forward to see a in depth review from someone else too!

I purchased a pellet gage about over a year ago and consider it to be a good investment. My Diana 430L prefers JSB 8.44-4.53 pellets and my gage helps me find them.

Instead of measuring every pellet in a tin, I simply measure 10 random selected pellets from each new tin, and the results can be amazing as following examples illustrate.

Tin 1 - JSB 8.44-4.53 = 10% 4.52 + 90% 4.53.
Tin 2 – JSB 8.44-4.53 = 30% 4.51+ 60% 4.52 + 10% 4.53.
Tin3 – JSB 8.44-4.53 = 20% 4.50 + 50% 4.51 + 30% 4.52.

Needless to say, I have only designated Tin 1 for use with the 430L and will use the other tins with other rifles. I feel the size control in tin 1 is remarkable, and wish JSB could duplicate this more frequently.

I also have similar experiences with H&N FTT 8.64-4.50 when 5 tins all tested greater than 4.54. When I contacted the company, they advised the lot I had was old stock and came from 2017 when they were not controlling the size to the same degree. I have since bought 2 more tins with the following results-

Tin 1 - H&N FTT 8.64-4.51 = 40% 4.51 + 60% 4.52.
Tin 2 – H&N FTT 8.64-4.51 = 30% 4.51 + 70% 4.52.

I find the above consistency to be very acceptable for my needs. Test on other H&N pellets have shown similar consistency, but maybe a size larger which is still acceptable to me.

Bill

I believe both ^^^^ are correct, and I suggest pellet sizer sounds useful but is not because there are other factors affecting accuracy and precision. So in short if you have crappy pellets, the sizer will jst make uniform diameter crappy pellets out of them. Buy good pellets, the one your gun likes, in the nominal size that works well, like 4.54 or 4.51 etc and then sort or grade them into batches will likely be more effective than squeezing them through a sizer. A long time ago I bought a ultra high resolution gr scale I intened to use to sort my JSB Exacts by weight. I maybe did one tin and then gave up. But in my case I know I will never be "marksman" so no pellet fuss beyond what my gun likes is necessary.

[emoji38] I tried the same too and planned to sort my inventory and group the pellets with weights then gave up after finished 1 tin. Still keeps that half tin 'hand picked' ' premium grade' X-Match I am stingy to use... :)

Ok sizer it s not good for me, i shoot a 6 m. With the crosman wc i turn around the teen on scale down target with my pistol ( home brew 2300t and a old daisy 853c), at bench rest not prone

I just loose time and money to size for working technique in prone position.

Thank to all for the info
