There is 2 up for bid on the icollector site. Might be worth placing a max bid around $80-100. Not worth it much after that, just buy new. Few weeks ago there was a fwb 300s avaliable. I stopped bidding after $800 (yup, if you got one for sale I'm interested), it sold for $1700 CDN. Around $2350 after all is said and done?? Something like that. Ouch.

LW barrel and aperture sights.

I agree on the price.

Unfortunately no evidence that the 953C has a LW barrel. The ad shows 953C but the description is for an 853C.
The 953 regular didn't have aperture sights, sling, or LW barrel and had a plastic stock, vs the 853 that had aperture, sling, LW barrel and wood stock. I believe the current 953 offering is a regular 953 with a sling and aperture sights. The price has jumped on the 953 in the last few yrs since Daisy stopped making the 853 - but they are still very good rifles and excellent for training young and old shooters for 10m. I have had 2 953s and both of them could single hole 5 shot groups every group. :drinkers:

@Well it says it, and AGS is reputable so I believe it. In that case price is good.
I don't have access to my 853 ATM and I don't know if it says LW on the barrel itself, but apparently there are no such markings on the 953 Cadet TargetPro.

The Gun Dealer is mainly a powder burner store with a small airgun inventory. That would account for the inflated price. They are usually pretty flexible if you call and talk to them. I have gotten them to price match before. Like any business, they are looking to make a profit, and when you don't deal primarily with airguns, you cant compete with the likes of D&L and Airgun Source.

I'm a bit confused by this. The price at The Gun Dealer is $280. The price at AGS appears to be $550. They appear to me to be the same model, so who has the inflated price again?

So are you saying at $280 it's still overpriced?

It may not not be a straightforward answer. If the new 953 Cadet TargetPro with bells and whistles and LW barrel is a 853 in a plastic stock then it's a good deal at $280. You could buy a 953s with FO open sights and a scope for under $100 a few yrs ago ( they did NOT have LW barrels). They are still good rifles and as with all goods and services the going price is set by the market. If you wanted one of these now is the time to buy because the going rate new is > $500. So thanks again to the OP for letting us know about this deal.

I was in the store on October the 2nd, 3 men searched for 20 min, checked the log they couldn't find any. They did have lots of air guns and pellets in stock. It is a big store well stocked in a tiny little town. I didn't call ahead as I was on vacation, I was running a little early for check in, after 2 days of driving.
