Forgot to mention this was outside testing, about 15 feet from the muzzle. Overcast so no diffuser needed. Using a F1 chrony.

The previous testing was in my garage but the wife gave me crap over it so I've been banished from doing that.

It is .357, shooting an 81gr Jsb pellet. And I fill to 2000 psi. I don't know why I just feel comfortable at that pressure...

With the lighter hammer strike I fired 6 shots over the chrony, first shot was 260fps, second shot was 720 then it held at 853
For the rest of them. That's pretty close to valve lock if you ask me.

This thing needs a stock! Not easy to shoot as it is.

So... I went to home Depot and bought a strip of 1.5" x .75"
x 8 foot maple. It was $35. Plan is to cut them into varying lengths to form a rough outline of a stock. Then I can carve it from there. Should have about 20" left over to maybe do a front stock.
I figure it'll look different... But I wanted maple and couldn't afford a piece of 1x8.

Here's the 'blueprint'

Sorry, I'm not a photographer. Click the pic and you can see it better.

Pretty sure it would ruin anybody's day
I'd love to find some wild pigs! I always hear about them but never see any.
I am told if a guy had a boat and took it up the north Saskatchewan you can see them on the river banks.

Huh, yeah I don't personally know. A friend of a friend's story. Probably just happened to see one that day.
I have no idea where they hide. I bet the hutterites would know.

Well I took the ol beast out to shoot some more today, but I forgot my diffuser. Couldn't get any reading.
Shooting with the longer spring I was using before.
I pumped it to 2200 psi this time, and I'm pretty sure I broke the sound Barrier. First 2 shots are like that then it tames down.
Air cylinder is at 1000 psi after 6 shots.

Here's a little video of me shooting it
Don't judge.

Slowly making progress.
The stock is almost done. It's roughly Shaped and inletted. Still need to decide how I'll secure the action though.

Here you can see the process I went through to make a $35 maple stock. Pretty pleased so far.

For anyone new ish to wood working, they make these things called rotary rasps. Wow are they awesome. And like $5 at Canadian Tire. It's just a wood rasp for your power drill.

Through-bolt up the stock like on an Enfield into that boss you attached?

If you don't have a butt plate, then scroll down to butt plates and butt caps.
Your design right now, is a later, percussion era Southern Mountain Rifle or Ohio style.

I don't recall how the stock is on the Enfield... Is it bolted straight through the butt to the wrist? Or otherwise... Thru the wrist?
That was sort of my plan. That boss is meant to be shaved down flush to the wrist, but should have one spot about 3/4" thickness to bolt up thru the wrist. I donno... It's kinda shoddy. But it should work. If it's not solid, I can bed it.

I actually traced my marlin 1895 to get the outline, it was originally a crescent moon stock, but I cut it off flat when i first got it. Don't ask. Anyway, i free handed the butt end of this one... Think I went a little too aggressive with the curve...

The bolt hole in the Enfield is under the butt plate and the thread is about 1/2" in dia., say 1/2x16 or maybe 1/2x18- just going by memory. The actual thread might be 3/8x18 or so.
It should be fairly easy to lay out the lines for angle,to get your hole for drilling and tapping correct.

Drilling up through the wrist area might not lend as much longitudinal strength as the butt screw method. If might however provide all the strength necessary.

This version, on 2 1876 Winchester rifles, show the crescent and the flat(ter), shotgun butt.
