Is there anyone in Canada or who will ship to Canada that can provide a .25 breech and barrel for a 2260? If CO2 is not enough pcp conversion would push it.

Thanks.

One thing to remember is the larger the diameter of your projectile, the more area a given pressure has to react on.
That's why a 12ga kicks harder than a 308. Even though (I'm speculating) the fpe output for both guns are about equal. Ok bad analogy... But it sort of relates.

Recoil has to do with projectile mass and not the caliber. You know conservation of momentum and all.

But yeah co2 shouldn't have trouble pushing .25 pellets as long as there's a steady flow of co2 during the whole time the pellet is moving in the barrel.

Pretty sure it's not as black and white as we both painted it. Bore diameter has something to do with it too... Just trying to point out that using a given pressure, you can raise the fpe output very easily by going with a larger caliber and mass.

Conservation of momentum... I donno maybe back in high school physics class

Yes, I'm taking about a 2260 project not a handgun but I assume caution is being suggested due to the 22xx platform interchangeability.

Not usually too challenging to machine a barrel to fit the standard Crosman steel breech.

The biggest issue (time waster) is if the blank exceeds 1/2" on the od. This would necessitate turning the whole thing down to get it to fit, or creating a breech riser and possibly a custom barrel band.

Not sure about the Kral barrels that seem to be reasonably available now (great thing too!), but the .25 Marauder barrels I've worked with are pretty spot on 1/2" and don't require much in the way of machining at all to fit the Crosman breech. With the oring groove in the barrel, bolts are simplified as well.

Should be a couple guys in the AIRFT group that might be able to help if they have time...good group of guys to meet up with in either case. :)

Good luck,
Al

I've taken a bit of an out of different angle on getting to my goal. I've ditched the 22xx platform idea and gone to the Diana/Artemis Stormrider/Chaser line. I've got a .25 PCP Diana/PP800 coming in, from Airguns Archery Fun, with an extra 16" .25 barrel. If I decide I want over 500fps I can swap the .25 parts over to my PCP Stormrider/CR600W or to my CO2 CR600W.

Yup same here. Much better platform to work on. I feel that 22xx platform is definitely outdated.

Thing about the 2240 platform is it's excellent to learn the fundamentals. And the basic crosman design predates the 2240
By quite a few years. The 160 (qb78) came from the 50's era and is actually imo a better design.

The new CNC made stuff is pretty impressive I do have to say.
Ah, I had a joke but I think too inappropriate. Dang. It was perfect
Anyway. Once you get your hands on the new black anodized CNC machined stuff it's hard to go back to the ol' 2240.

Yes the 22xx platform has been great learning, I wouldn't be nearly as keen to get into the Stormrider/Chaser platform if I hand not learned what I have working on my 22xx and 13xx guns.
