Can anyone say something personal about 2300T? Looks very vintage )) Is trigger pull hard or acceptable?

I built one up, or rather used it as a starting point, for my grandson. It has a good sight, much better than a 2240, and it has a steel breech . Now the breech is a short model, so IMHO not as good as the one on a 2300S, nothing really wrong with it but not just the extra real estate if you want to mount a scope or red dot, and not as much support for the rear portion of the barrel. Trigger, it does have an adjustable sear spring but that's the only improvement. You can do a real simple upgrade by changing to a supersear and polishing the surfaces where that sear contacts the trigger and the hammer, makes aworld of difference, or go the bigger bucks route and put in a 1701p multi lever trigger assembly and a hammer, this one is much more adjustable, a two stage trigger . Honestly having done several, I think the supersear is a good comprimise, one I have is actually better than the 1701p trigger at about 1/3 the cost. I did use a roller trigger with the supersears, I wanted a wider trigger face so that negated much of the cost difference.

I had planned on a 22xx build for my grandson. I ended up starting with the 2300T because of the steel breech and the better rear sight. Now the downside is that the steel breech is shorter than that on the 2300 S, but he is young and will probably use iron sights more, although a little red dot fits fine. I would prefer the longer breech if I were to install a scope. Next the trigger is better than a standard 2400 in that it has an adjustable sear spring. I tossed that and installed a Crosman 1701p trigger group and hammer. The trigger is a two lever plus the sear, vs just a sear on the 2300T, and has adjustments for length of pull weight of pull and sear engagement. Another option is to simply replace the stock sear with what is called a Supersear, which you can search and find on ebay, about $25, I used that and a roller trigger which adds another roughly $50. For that total you can get a 1701p assembly if you search enough. The Supersear does not offer all the adjustments, but a couple that I have is almost as good as the 1701p, but talking the same money now knowing what I know I would go the 1701p route. With it you need to either replace the hammer or fill the "wasp waist" with something like JB Weld so it will function.
The steel breech and better rear sight makes for a better price using the 2300T as a starting point vs getting a 2240, although if you want .177 cal you will also need a new barrel. I thoght it interesting and enjoyable working up my own and learning how they work.
