Oh I plan too! Naturally that's... the more difficult part, and where I'm hung up at the moment: I do not know where I can legally do this in my area without going to a designated range. I just want to go to a nearby bush (as in not drive for a couple hours, something a bit closer) and fling some pellets at some cans and paper

Thanks! I wasn't sure about Stoegers reputation, and naturally when something is so deeply discounted on a sale like this, makes me a tad nervous if i've made the right decision.

Once I took it out of the box and held it, and felt exactly how sturdy and solid it was, I felt much better about it. But I have no idea as of yet how well it shoots, and I wont know until I can figure out where I can take it

The price sure seemed right to me! As I mentioned above the deep sale price made me kind nervous but it feels good, and feels good to hold. I just can't wait to find out it's performance! I got a little sample platter of pellets of different heads to try and see which this rifle is most accurate with (if any of them lol)

Oh I will! I showed my wife a few minutes ago and I think she might be into it now too. So we'll see how this goes from here on out hahaha

Thanks everyone for the comments! Cheers,

Kyle

Looks like a fancy gray-polymer stock with fancy butt pad to me.
Fancy is as fancy appears to each one of us. It is an opinion, only. :D

Too, it has a fancy palm swell, checkered wrist, forend and along with checkering for hand hold at the lower butt
when bench shooting ( a different style is all).

I tried to find out what platform this nothing fancy rifle was made from, but info was scant. It seems it's a new variant of Stoeger X5 line which was XS 12 based. If so, then the price point is reasonable. XS 12 has a good enough reputation, parts available. etc. I had a detuned "495" stoeger X5 at one point, it was a weak shooter (maybe 400 fps) but I was able to tune it to 495 fps by cutting the latch rod and grinding a new notch for the trigger sear. :drinkers:

Trying to sight this gun in this morning.
Was shooting really low to the right.
Found it a difficult as the rear sight doesn't sit level.
Was getting frustrated to the point I was going to return it.
Took quite a bit of adjusting but it's pretty good now.

This is true! I grabbed this little guy as a starter to get into the hobby and was deliberately looking for something that didn't require a license and pricing was non-prohibitive. This is why I call ited it "nothing fancy", was nothing against it or it's style, but it's nothing like some of the other items in these collections and in fact one might argue might blend into the shadows with it's contemporaries haha

I look forward to actually firing it one day.

That's some next level stuff man! haha

I wish I could even tell how well it performs. Because as of this writing, I still haven't fired a single pellet through it. There's simply been no where to take it, no where to shoot it.

I'll come back to this thread to report what I've found when I actually get to have some trigger time with it. I have no idea yet how mine performs. I find the packed in scope has issues sitting right but that's likely user error, though I find the ironsights to be pretty level and easy to sight. We'll see when it comes go time though

I can't wait! And I can't wait to share my range report too! haha

One day!
