Anybody know how to remove the faux suppressor? I can unscrew the threaded front cap but the plastic body does not want to be removed.

It's only held in by the pressure of an o-ring.

If you're having trouble getting it out, maybe push a skinny rod in through the other side to push it out.

I was able to remove the threaded end assembly, complete with 0-ring. What I want to remove is the ugly long plastic housing over the length of the barrel. I have no problem with the light, tough, plastic stock but just can't abide a "plastic" barrel.

I had one like that on my Venom Dusk...back in the day. I suspect its pressed on, so just pound it off.
Here is a tutorial I made on front sight removal. Idea is the same. A bit of blow dryer heat for 5 mins may help as well.

Maybe not the same as yours, when I googled Nitro Pistin Fire I get this.. which resembles just a muzzle break, not a "entire length" fixture. Can you post a picture?

Looks like Crosman has shortened it up.

What a monstrosity that is. I would be concerned that there may be no blueing blueing on the barrel.
Looks moulded in place, which likely means a destructive method needed for removal.

So now you can see, and I think agree, that the thing has got to go. I can see down inside and it looks loke the barrel is all blued. I have a heat gun so will try warming it up- doesn't seem to be anything inside holding it on.Even with lots of effort, it doesn't want to pull or twist, so I am thinking that it may be glued for the first couple of inches, which are narrow. The front threaded plug holds it on securely, so I wouldn't thing it would need to be cast in place, and there are no setscrews.

I think Crosman must have had enough complaints to change the design.

The 'shroud' provides volume for the "QuietFire" suppression system *IF* in USA, in Canada the threaded cap at the muzzle differs from the American baffled counterpart as the Canadian one is basically a solid piece, no baffles.

On mine the 'shroud' appears to be held in place by a tapered collar pressed (wedged, via taper) down near the breech block. As you may know the taper is a great fastener and likely will require a destructive method to remove. So, either cut off the shroud just above the metal collar or heat 'n beat until it's off, either way you risk damaging the appearance of the fully blued barrel under it.

Hypothetically speaking, the cap could be made to resemble an air stripper by cutting four slots into it and leaving it backed off some amount. The theory being the four ports 'could' strip air and direct it back into the 'shroud'. Some dollar store scouring pads tucked way down by the collar and a few 1/32 in holes on the bottom side just forward of the metal collar might be helpful. I began thinking about this until I read that 'devices attached' vs 'integral' for purposes of sound suppression are illegal in Canuckistan, and don't need the worry of offending some anti or activist trying to appear busy. I'm sure that is for our own good. /sarcasm

The 'shroud'' doesn't hurt anything nor weigh much, it could be useful at some point. Benjamin Trail NP has a stripper/shroud idea used in the Canadian market without issue.
