I have a 2240xl I picked up last year. Put a 14" barrel on it, brass muzzle break with brass sight pin, and a magazine from ebay. Planned to do more modifications but ended up growing away from the platform into something without gas. If you're interested in it maybe this one could be your base?

Sure I just took these ones. I didn't pick it up for a couple months and seems like it developed a slight skim of rust on the gas tube. But I'll clean it up and give it a bit of oil after supper. Nothing serious, see pic

I have a couple 2240s a 2250 and a 2260 that began life as a 2240
I converted the 2260 to hpa using a ss Don Cothran tube and the valve and fill port from a Benjamin Discovery.

Looking good, lauchlin. What does the muzzle end look like and what are you doing for grips/stock?
I just got a 2240 custom to work on, will get to it after my pumper is done.

Sweet! Glad it fits.
I saw that it was out for delivery today... Strange for a Sunday?

Here's the best I could get for pictures of the barrel.
Hope you don't mind, lauchlin.

Are you going to use a disco valve or you were going to adapt to 2240 valve to HPA ?

That breech sure looks like a step up from theB&M breeches that I used in the past. As for an HPA tube about the only available option is from Cothran . The last time I checked he had 2240 length in stock.

Maybe like this, although this is not mine, this is as compact as you can get.
