Are there any issues with using a pcp in neg temperatures ?
Bringing them inside and outside, is condensation a concern?

Dry the air before you compress and after, no problems. No water in no water out.

My Steyr shoots the JSB 7.9 gr pellets at about 815 fps in warm weather. (60 degrees plus) I tried to shoot it in a winter match and the pellet was dropping huge at distance. It was shooting around 500 fps. Probably the lube on the hammer and valve slowing things down and maybe the different metals have different expansion and contraction rates. The Steyr has a bunch of small parts in the mechanism. With a tear down and finding different lubes that are less temperature sensitive could help.

My ld/SS (PCP) did not seem to be affected very much. but the mechanism is so simple, there are just fewer places for changes that affect velocity. I shot my only perfect field target score on a cold, windy, snowy day at Elmira with the ld.

I just use my springers (Tx200) in the winter. They seem to hold velocity and may even speed up a few fps in the cold.

I shoot a few of my PCP’s in the cold winter months. I tend to use the simpler rifles without regulators and have the least amount of orings . Evanix/blizzard actions are real good in the cold. Benjamin discovery , and simple actions like that would be what I’d be looking at.

Good to know, Mac. Thanks. I was wondering how my HW's might fare, outside in the winter. It's usually dry here - maybe 30% in the
winter, but can get up much higher in warmer, close to 0 weather when snowing.

Daryl, I've shot mine from -10 and dry up to 5 degrees and damp. Once it gets up to room temperature at home, I just wipe it all down with Ballistol. The metal internals are all covered with a very thin layer of Krytox. Never had any rust.

Thanks for asking the question! I was wondering about how extreme the effect was too! I had heard a lot about shooting in the winter.
