Buddy of mind has a Slavia 631 that has slight side to side movement where the barrel breaks.
My Crosman Phantom and my Slavia are both tight no side to side slop.

First does this affect accuracy or anything else?
If it is a problem can the side to side slop be tighted up and how is it done?

Thanks

Yes, of course side to side indicates the breach is too loose. There are washers/shims in between the compression tube forks and the breach block - usually recessed. Step 1 is to try to tighten the breach bolt, step 2 if that doesn't resolve the issue is to replace the breach washers with thicker ones, brass is good. The newer break barrels often use plastic washers there - I have replaced those with brass washers for a very firm and consistent breach movement. It doesn't hurt to put some blue loctite on the breach bolt threads when you achieve a good tightness.
