Just purchased the Texan in 50 cal. Looking on the internet what to feed it with. Is it .510 calibre? Will is shoot muzzle loader bullets or sabots? Or only led balls? Can I shoot 50 cal cast bullets?

My apologies for maybe stupid questions

The AFT uses .510 slugs.

Like these: https://www.airgunsource.ca/us/nsa-510- ... 100ct.html

Being an airgun, it'll shoot anything that fits snugly in the breech.

Congratulations on the buy.
Bullet moulds are available in .510, from 300gr. on up to about 700gr.
Seems to me, bullets in the 450gr. range are likely about the heaviest to use in the Texan.
Lyman, RCBS, Lee, Buffalo Arms, Saeco are a few of the makers of moulds.
I do not know of any regular round ball mould makers who make .510" balls.
Lyman did make a .508" RB mould, years ago. My bro has one that size, but it is .001" undersized, each side
for the Texan.
I have bought bullet moulds from Buffalo Arms and they are good to deal with.USA
They appear to be short of a lot of bullet moulds, these days. The only .510 mould in stock is a single cavity 625gr.

The also have a .512" RCBS bullet mould, which should cast smaller if cast in pure lead, a .512" 450gr. bullet.

ML bullets are too small (.504 on the top band only- usually), as are: .500 S&W Magnum bullets(.500").

Difficult to find .510" round balls or round ball moulds. There might be a custom round ball maker in Manitoba- used to be. Perhaps google knows?

Just thinking about .510" bullet moulds and my bro has the Lyman .510" in 520gr. he might be interested in selling. Let me know via PMessage and I'll contact him about it.
From where do you hail?

I had forgotten about the Sabo's .50's for the bolt action ML's. - they might work.

The fellow in this video is shooting some Sabo's as well as 450gr. Lyman pointy bullets, #515142 (I think). That bullet was originally used in the .50/70 and .50/90 Sharps.

Lee also makes this mould and I have one, but it is quite pointed.

This one is shooting the 388gr. swaged bullets. 782fps 527fpe

Then, there are these from Lehigh Defense - amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTX14r6C5dY

Here’s the first place I look when searching for bullet molds. It appears they have a few in stock in either .510 or .512 . https://noebulletmolds.com/site/product-category/512/

HA! for some reason, I forgot about NOE. I have 2 of their moulds - quite BEAUTIFULLY made.
It appears they have a 475gr. FN G/C. Without the gas/check, the tapered base would improve the BC slightly.
By the time they get here, a little more than double Lyman's $100.00+, but worth it.
Oh- appears prices have gone up.
I see they are sold out of the lighter .510 cup-base mould.
This one at Buffalo Arms is in stock. .512 450gr. FN.
