One caveat of discussing WTS adds
- You are drawing attention to the add, and someone else might buy... :axe:

As far commenting someone else "for sale" post, the way I see it.
- Discussion the condition of the rifle = Good to go
- Discussion of $ = Not really. You are free to make an offer... and someone is free to ask whatever they want for it.

Replies to WTS adds are not available on CAF - this was done because of posts/replies bashing the ads.
All discussion about FS ads should be done over PM.

I had interpreted the discussion of WTS adds as: What do you folks think of this or rather airgun listed for sale...

And vintage popular airguns with limited supply can be very valuable, if the right buyer comes along.

Hi,

I've been a seller (and buyer) here for many years. I agree that 75%-80% of the original cost is what I would ask for current production airgun items.

However, there is the investment side of any hobby. I have purchased many items for 100's of dollars, 5 years ago, 20 years ago, or even 40 years ago. This cash can be considered, as dead money. When it is time to sell, I research them extensively, including past sales and the current market availability.

If I use terms such as "rare" or "hard to find", then that is a fact. :D

I believe that all prices on the Forum may be discussed within a PM, in regard to a counter offer.

When shipping is included in the price, you have to consider the outrageous cost of transportation, these days.
