A friend wanted a KYL target for sub-500 airguns for indoor use and this is what we came up with. Everything is 10ga. The paddles all have a counterweight to let them spin easier. The paddle sizes are 1", 3/4", 1/2", 3/8" & 1/4". If you want to shoot the counterweight blade you have about .135" to aim at. The frame is 9" wide x 2-1/2" deep. Holes in the base allow it to be fastened down.

That looks great Rob!

I really wish I had a place to shoot these reactive targets.

My wife draws the line at my well functioning pellet catcher but no flying lead allowed.

Very nice. Is the bracket self fabricated? Looks well made. Fun looking target.

The pieces are laser cut and broke. I just have to twist the paddles

They will make a nice challenge for 30 yards next summer in the yard

My thoughts exactly. My HW97 in .177 would be up to the challenge, rested, of course.

Having two of those side by side would make a great Gunslinger event. Set them at 30 yards and first one to hit all five advances to the next round. Much easier than having five individual targets with strings for both shooters. Having spotters to confirm hits would make it foolproof.

You might be better off with the full size KYL target for that. We were shooting at it on Sat at 40 yds. The last 3/16" paddle gets real challenging, especially with the wind we had.

Actually the five targets are perfect. The Gunslinger has always been done with five. We also do not want the rounds to go on forever.

Could do it differently to keep things moving- put a time limit, how far down the line you can get in 3 minutes or with a max number of shots.

Now THAT sounds like a great event for a turkey shoot.

Tim,
The only reason I suggested the full size one is it comes with its own legs. It allows the targets to sit up a little higher. You could also remove the targets you don't want. It might be better for use at Grenville. The small kyl is 9" long and would need some kind of stand to get it off the ground. I've also re-designed the small unit to have targets top and bottom with only three paddles. I've also increased them to 3/16" steel. This could also be done with the 5 paddle unit.
