One problem area I've still to resolve is the pellets get hung up in the divot where the breach screw sits, its worse on my 13xx than the 2240 - I guess different dates of manufacture, the screw from my 13xx has a tiny head diameter leaving a deeper divot than the other. Anyhow, how to solve this one? I've read on various forums about holding barrel down etc, which isn't satisfactory for me. I also read about filling the divot with wax, maybe that would be OK. Does anyone have advice /experience on what I can use to fill/smooth out this spot?
Thanks, :drinkers:
(not my photo, but this is the area):

You can find some nylon washer on e-bay , you drop that under the srew to raise it until you pellet pass thrue. Oder option is to fill with candle wax.

Me i drop the front of my guns and let gravity feed it and push my bolt after.

If the wax trick is too sticky, maybe you could punch some soft lead In there. Never tried it, as I just use gravity to load them.
I like the idea of spacing the screw with a washer.
Hobby shops carry lots of small washers you might not find at a hardware store.

I was thinking about that, have you used it successfully, or does the bolt catch up in it?

Good stuff, Ace. I was thinking along the lines of wax or JB compound. The tape looks great as long as there is clearance for the bolt.

wax is also good but JB would be a pain to remove if you needed to access the screw again
the tape isn't that thick theirs enough clearance

I tried it, but didn't get good adhesion between the tape and the breach, so it got hung up. I'll dissemble everything and give it a good acetone rinse and try again tomorrow.

Actually I always just use my finger to push and seat the pellet almost all in the chamber then bolt it in... I don't like just drop the pellet in the middle of the slot then use the bolt to push it all the way down.... So that 'pot hole' didn't bring me too much trouble...

I tried again with tape, it actually worked very well for about 10-12 shots, then it started to rotate and was squished shortly after. I switched over to candle wax, it works well too; so far its sticking in place and pellets load much nicer than with the divot hole.

JB Weld doesn't like heat. Heating up a screw driver removes it quite easily. I now use it for most of my "bedding"
jobs.
