You might want to double check your scope mount before beating on the barrel. A friend recently put a new scope on his rifle and didn't have enough adjustment in the scope to zero it. It turned out one of the rings had the stop screw sticking out the bottom and didn't let the ring seat down properly.

This might sound too simple but did you check your breech seal protrusion? Maybe the seal is a bit too proud and hindering lock-up?

Got a 2 piece mount fron the lgs. It has 4 bolts. I have them on a diana 34, and a Weirhauch 95. No movement on either gun. They have a stop pin also. Great mounts. Oh almost forgot, They are rws , and they make ones for 1” and one for the metric size scopes. They are made for drooped barreled air rifles.

I had a Diana 34 with lots of droop. I had the breech block machined a bit which allowed the barrel to lock up a tiny bit later, thus making the barrel perfectly level when closed.
