My first Magnum Springer. Shoots at 25ft.lbs~

My first .25 cal air gun. Finally the pellets I bought for my 25cal PP700 project which I gave up at the end has something can shoot now~ TBH, they are expensive...

The 'beast' actually shoots very smooth as it's been tuned so well and has lots of upgrades inside than a NIB one from the factory. The previous owner and the tuner really did a good job on it.

It's long and hard to cock but lots of power to send JSB King pellets through the thick metal coconut juice can without any hesitation, big holes on both walls obviously tho~ :D

It's a Xisico XS28 magnum!! Fells very light in the hands but so powerful inside the body. Very accurate but I am still trying to find a good way to shoot. Mine got a very good looking stock too~ :)ImageImageImageImage

Woah, that's a beast. You can shoot pots and pans with that one! You'll have to get out for some "field" shooting this year. :drinkers:

Cool! Those things are tanks.
I just picked one up from sniper, looking forward to a tune up and see what this monster can do
Are you going to scope it?

I tried original sharp pointer insert sight, but very hard to see the point in my basement range...

Then I found out the HW globe sight inserts just can fit into the front sight, they are the same size! So I put a cheap Daisy diopter rear sight on and use a peep hole front insert from my HW inserts. However, I ran out the adjustment on the diopter sight to the right, and the gun still shoots a little bit to left. I can 'hold right' tho, but not a perfect solution...

And I just found out a damper mount which I bought before but never had a chance to use. Then an old Hawke Vintage 40mm AO scope is on now... But don't have time to zero and try yet~ Hopes it will be my final good solution to sight the monster~ (the gun was tuned very well and shoots very smoothly, but I still worry about my investment on the scopes and don't dare to one on it directly... :) )

That is a nice rounded springer collection. Definitely worthy of some pride.

Good thinking on the front sights, something to play around with.
A lighter scope is my thoughts but I’ll have to try the irons out first.

BTW, your collection is looking great

Let's get these beauties a chance to show their stuff at longer range in the Spring. They are dying to be shot.

Hi Yep Yep, I have one also, but mine is in .22. It’s pretty accurate just with iron sites. It is a scope killer for sure. I’m waiting to by a Diana Bullseye scope mount for it and try another scope. They are powerful. Have fun shooting it.

An update...

Things confirmed it's actually very accurate. However still looking for the best way to shoot it (to tame the beast ~)

I love the .25 cal makes a lot smoother than smaller calibers (I guess so as I didn't shoot any smaller caliber magnum air rifle. Heard a lot tho...) It's quiet, not at all jumping when you use artillery hold (putting fore stock on slightly closed palm but barely have force on holding it...)

But on the other hand, the heavier pellet weight gives it a lot slower speed (I didn't run it through my FX Chrony yet, and believe it's shooting around high 600 to low 700 as what I been told), so it's a little bit sensitive... At last it's still a magnum ~ If my holding not right, in follow through, I can see the sight picture slammed to aside... so slower pellet speed looks would make this worse in some cases...

And one more thing I noticed so far is the barrel droop.... Still thinking if I should bend the barrel slightly upward to make it better on the scopes or diopter sights, or just leave it alone and live with it...

I can put back on the original breech mounted open sight which won't affected by the droop... But I really want to use scope on it...

I am using an older generation Hawke Vantage. About 100 pellets shot with the scope. So far so good... Thinking it should survive in a long run...

Another update~

Thinking I am done with the sights on my XS28 and will keep on using this old 3-9x 40mm Hawke Vantage.

But now it's on an one piece mount and about 0.8mm thick paper piece shimmed on the rear ring to compensate the barrel droop.

And double layers of electrical tapes inside the rings to help for reducing the shocks...

= = =

Today, I also did a power comparison towards my detuned HW35. Very impressive!

Before having the gun delivered, I worried if my duct seal filled pellet trap could stand the power in my short basement range... And it proved not a problem. At least the pellet pushing down or flip over the box didn't happen, I thought of that tho...

But after watching this slow motion videos I took, I know the power is NOT a joke! That heavy pellet trap actually shaking and wobbling on every shot!!
