I kinda don't like pistols! Well, mostly.. but I have developed a liking and collection of the Crosman 13xx/22xx pistols that I have turned into (under 500) long guns, at least in appearance. So, I have begun work on a shoulder stock for my latest acquisition a 2240XL. Here are some photos of what I have planned.
First how it is now:

And a cardboard sketch of the stock, a few iterations in:

Here's a look at how it will fit on a my 2240xl pistol:

Yesterday after snow blowing the driveway I needed to do something to unwind. There's nothing like woodworking to soothe the soul.. well, maybe target shooting is just as good, but since the wood was in the garage, and so is my band saw, it was a good opportunity to relax to make the first cut. So, here is the rough cutout, sitting on the saw:

The wood is birch, harvested from a piece of coffee table my dear mother gave me many decades ago. It was a beveled glass insert top table and the glass got broken by kids a long time ago. I felt sentimentally attached to it so I saved the wood. I think going back to around 2012 I laminated two pieces of it together and had plans to make wood stocks for my Airmaster and 760 they were still sketched out on one side when I picked it up last week! Hopefully this will turn out nice and mom's gift will last another 40 years!

With temperatures lower than -10C in the garage, I have limited opportunities to work on my stock last week, but yesterday and today I made some progress.
I was reminded I was not a luthier a few times, some obvious boo-boos.. oh well it 'aint actual furniture, hopefully I can blend them out. It looks like this:

You are getting good at this!
May need a new word for ' wooden gun stock maker'... maybe 'gunthier'?

Great to follow your progress!

You've been doing some nice work Duke.
I like the subtle details, like the raised check pieces and the white line pad spacers you did on your other stocks. Good classic styling 8)

Ya, thanks guys. It's coming along. Learned a few harsh lessons today, re-learned a few as well. I need to recite a mantra, "small cuts, Duke, small cuts". I got a bad gouge... on the far side, more sanding may cover it - if not wood filler and paint. Also, no $hit: Nothing sticks to Teflon! My white line under the butt pad is a sheet of Teflon, it's now nailed in place - works perfect! Made a cute little fore stock for it today too. As it sits, white/black line under pistol grip being glued:

Not sure if it helps, but I use a primer to glue delrin to things with cyanoacrylate. Loctite 770. They might make something that works for Teflon.

It's true, you can glue Delrin - there are specific adhesives made for gluing it. Teflon is probably the most slippery plastic around, and there are no adhesives that successfully bond to it. maybe there is a primer that could alter the surface chemically to something with polarity.

More progress yesterday and today: I fitted the rotary rasp to the angle grinder and had at it for about an hour. That thing moves wood good - have to be careful with a light touch but it works great. I was getting towards the final cuts when it suddenly quit working. I finished up with a hand rasp, maybe it was a good thing because I cam only do minor damage with a hand tool. That power rasp has potential to ruin it quick... FOCUS! :) Once inside at my basement workshop I got out the voltmeter and pulled down the angle grinder. I have had problems with the switch before so it was my suspicion it was the issue... but no it wasn't. half hour later I determined that the power cord was bad.. how could a power cord go bad I wondered... hmmmm... then I discovered this. Man I'm lucky i didn't light up like a Christmas tree. I can hear my dad saying "sharp tools in the hands of fools.." Now fixed and ready for the next job.

Here it is now, maybe half done. I'm going to be very careful and smooth it properly this time around before putting on any finish.

[emoji38] that's the reason I like cord-less stuffs~

As the cut already made the power cord not working, means it's deep enough... And it's true lucky that didn't light up anything or hurt anyone ~

What a great segue into a new 'power tool repair' thread!

I skinned a few power cords over the years with various saws long ago. I have been using an electric lawn mower for years and cord management becomes a big deal not only for safety, but for mowing efficiency. I have become a stickler for cord management and it has served me well a few times in the shop when I have checked and found the cord too close to the line of cut.

Glad that the cord was the only damage!

Stay safe and keep showing us the amazing work that you are doing. That old scratched table is looking pretty good!
