I decided not to do a fat shroud and did a carbon bonded barrel with a mini air stripper I just finished. All that’s left here now is finish sanding and tung oil.
my tiny little legs really put out this time.
this thing is quite accurate, and weighs a kilogram less than my 1322 carbine. Very lightweight and compact only 24 inches long. And yes of course this is sub 500 averages around 440 with 21 gr h&n 21gr and only Slightly more with the Jsb exacts 14.35 Gr. really likes those heavy pellets.

I need a name for it what you got?

Wow, that's turned out looking sharp; I like the slender stripper.
How about "Princess" and/or "Paparazzi" plays on Diana and Chaser.
:drinkers:

That's pretty nice, Walther. My PP700 also favours the heavier pellets. For a while I was shooting only the 19.09gr. Barracuda Hunter, but tried the 21.3gr. Match Diabolos - WOW!

Thank Daryl. before i shot the exit led of my cheap chrono , I was very surprised how 14.35 and the 21gr h&n. Hp slugs were basically the fps.
Really want a 7x14 lathe , I spend half my time making jigs to machine parts due to oversize. for this 3x6 unimat.
I could make stuff waay faster and just use my unimat as a micro mill with the index head i have for it.

That is some fine looking work you did there! I like it.

I have a 7x12 lathe. it is my first lathe. I do like it, although it has its quirks. And I think after about a year of pretty heavy use, the motor controller is starting to go.

I was warned to get something bigger.
With a standard 3" chuck you can only fit something max 5/8" through the head stock. Add a 4 jaw independent chuck and I get something like .81"

Even some airgun barrels and especially shrouds are too big to easily work on.

Then they say it's 12" long. Well minus the length of the chuck and tailstock. However they measure it, there's not much room in there especially with a drill chuck holding a bit in the tailstock.

I know what you're saying, you spend more time building jigs and adapters than machining the parts you intend to work on.

So true, I’d love yo have 1 inch headstock bore , it would make things so much easier.
The only lathe training i have is a 3 month class in Grade 9 in 1981, so takes me some time to figure things out…
