Post subject: Benjamin gas ram preload question

Can anyone help me determine approximately what the preload is on the gas ram in a Benjamin Trail NP (sub 495 fps) model would be? I'd like to disassemble mine and I'm just trying to figure out what kind of setup to use to allow for expansion of the gas ram during the process.

Not much, about 1/8'' (3mm). A steel coil spring (even a non-PAL one) will have more. I use a screw clamp for woodwork to remove/install gas rams and springs in my non-PAL airguns.
