Ack, being a materials engineer Nylon 66 is a horse if a different colour. In this case I don't have any to give away!

Interesting killercrow. I didn't know they made a chromed version.

I figured that was what you were thinking Duke. Had no idea there was nylon 66. Just remember seeing the old plastic stocked 22s they made.
I didn't know about a chrome one either Daryl.

Mazda, have you checked gunpost, or gunnutz? I see these selling every so often, but not usually cheap.

Had a buddy owned one, back when I was a kid. My Ruger 10-22 out-shot it, accuracy wise and was a lot faster to load.
They were a neat gun, but that plastic stock was quite cheap feeling. Remington's factory shooter was good with one, though.
Ahh - the Apache Model was the chromed one.

Taking a Remington Nylon 66 apart and then back together can be a challenge as I recall. Ruger 10/22 is simple in comparison.

I replaced many of the trigger components in my Ruger 10-22, along with the stock and barrel. Not a lot of it is original, any more.
Bloody accurate, though. I made a 51 yard target with it, 5 groups of 5 shots each, along with a 6th 'sighter' bull. My aggregate was
.222" for those 5 groups. The sighter target had about 15 shots on it and all were inside 1". I was using flags and every time a flag
change happened, I had to put one on the sighter bull, then hold accordingly in the group I was shooting. If 25 round mags were illegal
at that time, I'd not been able to do as well, I am sure. After loading a fresh mag into the gun, a "fouling" shot has to be fired downrange
and not on the target to 'set' the action. Failure to do this, will upset the grouping with the first shot. It doesn't happen every time, but
often enough that when bench-rest shooting, consistency has to be maintained, shot after shot. If a jam happens, the next round is wasted
down-range, not on target. It's picky enough that having to use 10 round mags would have been painful. At the time, I had a 6-18X Simmons
Pro Hunter scope on the rifle. It was quite suitable.
