Work's been putting a damper on my hobbies, but
I managed to make progress on my latest B18 build, I proudly present Crosman Ventom V1.0;
It has the compression tube from a Venom, Phantom .22 barrel with Venom brake, a custom adjustable NP, short compression piston, and a 3-9x40 AO scope (generous gift from jckstrthmghty, thanks again :D )
Stock was refinished with boiled linseed/tung oil blend, tinted with gunstock stain. it has 2 coats atm, will apply min 4 coats as time goes by. Shoots CP domes 14.3 gr at 490-497 fps, tuned by bleeding the NP a few spurts at a time until that speed was achieved. unfortunately I don't have a way to measure the pressure in the NP at the set point. It took about 5 iterations of bleeding and testing to get it there.
I've worked on the breach lockup, reshaped and re sprung alive jam, brass breach washers. No trigger work yet, and no accuracy/pellet testing, but it is putting the cp in a small circle. There is about 1/8" pre-load on the NP and the shot cycle is very sharp and pleasant. I'm due for a few more toys in the mail next week so my B18 endeavors will go to the back burner.. I'll be re coating the stock over time, so stay tuned for V2.0 sometime later this spring.

Very impressive machining skills. Bravo!
My .22 Phantom needed the same alive jamb work. Made a huge difference.

Ventom, Phantimus, -you guys are making me nervous. Jumbling of words can be an early sign of dementia. Now where did I put my keys...
