Solid advise.

That's a very good advise but for now is out of my budget. I had check for the 2 co2 pistol on the forum, the cheaper co2 extinctor i find around is 250$ for a 15 pound with the price of gun and shipping it' s come close the same price of a brand new izh46 m brand new ...

For now is a basement hobby and at 54 years old is to late to dream about to be a national competitor. I moved from ottawa to quebec city and i had to stop power burning sport ( trap, benchrest ect) dont have the facility for that here. So may be a day I will sold some power burner to brought a3 000$ competition pistol but for now after 3-4 month on shooting not willing to invest to munch money...

Look at these two, sister and sister in-law starting at 60+ to coming 1st and second at a national championships in India. No small feat even in the veterans division.

Unfortunately Chandro Tomar has since passed away but she continues to inspiration for many.

While the IZH46 is a nice pistol, you'd be taking a step back from your TAU7.
- The cocking of the pistol for each shot will have a negative impact on your score... that's why Olympic shooters went from pump to co2 to pcp

If you have the opportunity, you ought to go to one of the 10M at club de tir les castors (à Charlesbourg)
- you'll that many of the shooters are also into their 50s

A new izh 46m is really a step back from a old tau 7 standard ?

Yep... Agree to Mike here too. I love my 46M a lot tho. Especially your purpose is going to do some serious shooting not like me occasionally take a few shots with this or that and always have a headache to empty the capsule in the Tau-7 as the shot count is too high for my purpose...

And, a grand for a new 46M is not worthy IMO...

As for the too-small a grip on the TAU-7, instead of replacing it with a IZH-46 (which is as good a reason as any to buy a new airgun)... wouldn't it make more sens to get a grip that fit your hand better?

How about Rink grips?! [emoji38]

Yes i think about that, for now i put lot of work and some money to this tau7, new springs new o-ring lot of sight barrel weight new adjustable velocity screw (old one had no screwdriver slot) and hours to take it apart and clean it inside. Not sure if that's a good move to put more money on it, i use it a lot approx 500 shoots by week so i long it can stay on good shape ...? That my concern about expense money on new grip

Rink grips is just something else you can think about... However the first time I saw it, I love to have one (forgot for which gun, maybe the HW45...) Then when I checked the website, the price scared me off... Just like the CS stocks for the HW and AA rifles...

I trust the quality of those old stuffs, like the Tau-7 or my FWB300SU or my old 46M... They will be stay on for long with essential service and maintaining...

Denis Marschalko used to offer some real nice target grips, at a very reasonable $

With their new LP500, Walther introduced a modular grip. It will be interesting to see if the idea catch on

Before I forget. This guy (in the US) makes bulk-fill adapter to use readily available paint-ball CO2 bottle
http://www.mac1airgun.com/bulkco2.html

The required grip-cap ought to be available straight from BRNO
http://www.taubrno.com/category-en/prod ... lements/13

Shot a TAU7 for a few years. Other than replacing the odd o-ring... It just kept on shooting.
