Just bought a new hw30s and put a bug buster scope on it but I took the scope off after shooting it that way for a week or so and im leaning toward a peep sight for this rifle to keep things simple. Plus I'm a sucker for a peep sight. Im thinking a williams dovetail mounted 5d or maybe a FP if i found one for a decent price. Have any of you guys mounted peep sights on a weihrauch break barrel gun? What sight did you use? Thoughts/advice? Where to buy in Canada? I like the target style diopter sights for target shooting but this rifle will be a walk-around plinker/basement gun so keeping things light and simple is the name of the game unless you guys can convince me otherwise. Williams offers their 5d sight in an airgun dovetail mount with 2 heights , I want to use the factory front sight with inserts with the reciever sight but I haven't actually handled the williams sights in person so I'm not sure if I would need the high sight line model or the regular height?

I prefer peep sights on air guns but there don't seem to be a lot of good options in many cases. Biggest issue seems to be to get the front and rear at the same height/sight line.

The linked thread shows 2 options that have macro elevation adjustment. The Willams is probably the go to.

I have some airguns.

When my 30 just came home, at the beginning I put a Williams on it. Works actually perfectly for this little fine shooter and out to 20+ meters without hiccups. Still have the good memory in my head about chasing and poping the spray can cap~

However bigger and bigger scope on it lately...

If my memory didn't go wrong it's a 5D-AG (looks the only one we could have to fit on the dovetail). Cheap, works, a little bit not that convenient to adjust (no click click click adjustment, and need to loose the screws, do it manually then tighten the screws again...)

Peep inserts available, not in Canada at the time, but I asked my friend to bought some different size and purpose inserts from the States, very useful and handy to add on some extra features~

From what I can see online williams makes the 5D-AIRGUN model in 2 heights AG (high sight line) and GR (low sight line) from your pictures it looks like an AG high sight line which makes sense to me considering the globe front sight. They also apparently make the Foolproof reciever sight for airgun dovetails but I only see one height available (in the states only and double the price of the 5D)

You can see the markers on the side, actually the sight has a lot of elevation adjustment for you.

Have to admit at the time I was using it, I never noticed there are two different height models and also stuff regarding the rear sight height need to match with the front sight height... zeroing was easy and straight anyway...

Had the other one for my 2240 too... However, eyes just went downhill so quick these years and scoped my 2240 too...

Still love the Williams tho~ cheap, durable, reliable, high quality, straight and easy to use.
