This HW 97 I can honesty say shoots better than my skill as a shooter
It is able to but pellet on pellet at 30 yds and every time it doesn't , shot goes off when I am off point of aim It is just nuts how good this thing shoots
I am going to have to get a rear bag to really check this thing out.
My AA S 510 has nothing over this HW 97 K except it is easier to shoot
and PCP has the edge at 40 to 50 yds as it shoots 200 FPS faster
If I do my part it shoots every bit as good as my PCP from 30 yds in.

I fully believe accuracy potential could be similar between high end springers and mid range pcp's however extracting that potential is easier said than done. As you mentioned the pcp is easier to shoot. A lot less going on there. I'm a bit suprised your 510 can't do better at 30 yards. Those are well known for accuracy/value. Not sure I mentioned it before, a tuning kit can totally transform the shot cycle for the better.

For shooting a springer consider looking at a "PRS" style bag designed to support the rifle at it's balance point. A typical front and rear bag won't let them recoil correctly.

Looking pretty good "for a springer".
What also helps, is to change one thing at at time, position on the bag, holding with off hand with back of hand on the bag,
letting the gun bounce, 2 bags, front and rear, etc.
I see Cabalas has those large single bags with the V in the middle to set the rifle into. I see Steve (U-tuber) uses one for
his testing now.

Working very well for you. There are many fellows who do not have the ability you are showing. Good stuff.
Practice is vitally important - and- changing only one thing at a time when testing variety of positions and projectiles.

Dam this HW 97 .22 needs to have barrel cleaned about every 250 shots
Groups open up and at first I thought it was me then I cleaned barrel and my super shooter came right back :D
Way more cleaning and more often than my other air guns
Wonder why this is ??

Oh well, once every 250 or so is not bad. I have had CF rifles that required cleaning every 6 rounds. 1 for fouling shot, then 5 for score.

That is the cleaning regimen that BR shooters do. Clean, one fouling shot, then 5 for a group. When some of my rat rifles had new barrels, it was fire a shot and clean, fire a shot
and clean for 5 to 10 shots, then 3 shots and clean, 3 shots and clean. 2 of them now do not pick up any copper fouling over a 500round course of fire. That's 20 gr. Vmax at 4,400fps
and 3,925fps from the other barrel with smaller ctg. Actually the little one just picks up a tich of copper in a day's shooting. This is removed with one 15 minute soak with Butches Bore Shine.
It actually takes less time to properly clean a muzzleloading rifle that has fired 50 rounds, than it does to clean a modern rifle that copper fouls. And, of course the cleaning regimen is
totally different.

Gotta be done though, or it will rot & rot more quickly, especially if one of the phony powders is used.
