I know, I know. Hear me out...

I've moved to a spot that has invasive American Bullfrogs. I have a pond. Ergo I have an issue that needs solved (ummmm. Not sure I'm upset about this...). I'm looking for something to help me deal with them. So, do I deal with lead in my pond (and yes, I do have the occassional heron, AKA manure poke) and I don't want to poison them. So... are there any decent BB guns worth considering, or are there non tox pellets that I should be considering.

Now in the way of being open... I sold my PCP .177 and am looking for something to get back into the game with. So I may be looking at two different rifles. Maybe one of those auto bb guns and a 177?

I heard that there are some very accurate BB rifle, I don't shoot one and someone else will chime in and provide more details I think.

For non lead pellets, you actually have lots of choices now a days as many countries limit the use of lead for hunting... I think you can check out the pellets with 'green', 'non lead', 'hyper speed', 'light weight'.... They should be all without lead in it.

To my experience, non lead pellets usually could be a bit less accurate as material (alloy without lead inside) is much harder than lead, and weight usually 20+% less than lead pellets, not a good choice for springer, should be good on co2 (power usually weaker) or PCP (power adjustable), they flies faster, much greater penetration ability, won't deform when hitting hard objects... You will know when you start using it~

The Polymag below is lead pellet , the others not. ImageImageImage

Copper pellets are equal in weight to lead, but I have not used them .177 are 10.6 gr. .22 are 14.4gr. The Crosman .22 penetrators I have used and they will go deeper than any pellet, as they are non magnetic, but very hard, I think they are made of Zinc with a plastic sleeve to protect the bore.
