It shoots BBs so it is clearly a BB gun, but how is the BB accelerated out the barrel? If it doesn't use compressed air as the propellant, then it seems to me it isn't an air-rifle and according to our crazy firearms act it wouldn't necessarily meet the definition of a non-PAL gun.

Good question, Duke. I have ZERO idea how electricity could propel the BB's at 400fps.
Anyone???

If it is like the electric airsoft, there is a piston that is activated by the electric motor. In the end it is air that pushes the bb out.

Figured it had to be something like that, but not sure, and to produce 400fps with a 4 or 5 gr. BB. Interesting indeed.

Impressive indeed but the $400US price tag is hard to swallow

The electric airsoft can easily push 3 to 4g 6mm BBs out the muzzle in 400ish with high speed full auto... Maybe not too hard to modify it to shoot 5g steel BBs out in similar speed...

Price is about similar to the airsoft too... Thinking very similar internals?! And of course, don't bother the accuracy vs a single shot pellet gun...

i mentioned this rifle in the bb gun replica section a couple months ago. it,s from barra and the airgun detective was looking at it at the shot show. it uses a battery to shoot steel bbs and you can get about 1000 shots before you have to recharge. they also showed a rifled barrel lever action same as umarex legends but rifled barrel for pellets . the heading i had on the thread was --new 1866 lever action western rifle (barra).
