The newest type of valve stems for the Crosman 1322/1377 have a white plastic seal end rather than a brass casing with a rubberish seal imbedded. Is the new plastic stem plug made of Teflon or some cheap plastic? Has anyone tried using/modifying one for use in a CO2 gun? I was wondering if they would work in a Crosman Mk1 or S&W 78G where no piercer pin is needed on the stem.

I have in the past used them for mk1s. Worked fine and didn't notice any swelling from being under co2.

Thanks! I was hoping you would reply. Even better when you have the experience.

Any time!
I'm not sure what material they use though.
I don't think it's Teflon, not quite delrin either.
Probably some sort of nylon?

Today I installed a Crosman plastic head stem in a S&W 78G pistol. The stem length had to be shortened a bit but the plastic head was left alone. It held gas fine and velocity with 14.3gr pellets increased from 385fps with OEM stem to 430fps with the Crosman stem. The head on the Crosman is quite a bit smaller so allows more gas flow. Also, I left the stem length .050" longer than OEM.
