I get it. That statement was part of Duke's post. NP

I think to do it properly you need to adjust the factory reg. down from about 135 bar to 100 bar or so. It also takes some time for factory reg to settle. My first groups did not look anything like the final result.[emoji12]

My intent was to bring the rifle down to around 18fpe using the regulator, but then perhaps go down under 10fpe for yard use using the hammer spring if possible. I'd rather avoid having to degass the rifle to change speeds. Also past experience is that low regulator pressure leads to more noise for a given velocity.

Hi grantmac,

I think if you tune it for 18 fpe, say reg setting at 105 bar or so. You can turn down the hammer adjustment screw to shoot at say 12 fpe.
To do that, based on my understanding, you will need to adjust the stainless screw way outside of the breech housing. It will interfere with the stock unless you do what I did, trimming the hammer spring. It can be done but at the end of the shot string, there will be a spike on fps.

Thanks,

Tom

Sounds promising for my purposes. Guess I'll get to playing once it arrives.

It would be interesting to play with a reduced transfer port as we.

Have you shoot any groups at 30 to 50 Yards
50 feet is not much for comparing with other pcp

Got a chance to try the M16 at 30-35 yards. It can easily shoot a 1/2" spinner 9 out of 10 times. I think with more usage, it will improve still.

Tom did you tried Artemis StormRider? I suppose those may all alike maybe just different stock,

Wes told me M16A performed better than the M16. So I ordered that, along with some other guns and still waiting for my PAL to ask him release my orders, maybe couple months later on. :ANAL:

I first bought the CR600W CO2 power, then convert it to PCP. Basically they are just like Stormriders. At one time I had two of those. Now I have an Outlaw and a M16. I like the large shot count and accuracy of my Outlaw, M16 was to be my spare.

I have an update on the M16, received a Huma regulator from Europe. I adjusted it to 105 bar then tried the gun. I must say I was very disappointed as it is supposed to be one of the best reg. around.

As always, I found the label for pressure markings not accurate. Also, the consistency was not even as good as my M16 factory reg. The variation in speed went from low of 850 to 942 fps.

It may be becase the Huma reg was new and not broken in yet, but at a total cost of $160 or so, it was not worth it.

So, in goes my factory reg. I am back to my original set up.

Did you adjust your hammer strike when you installed the Huma regulator?

Bob wrote an article on tuning a regulated pcp...

Yes, that is the standard procedure. Unfortunately, my Huma failed to yield the result I expected to see.

Just added 19mm mini gauge to the air release port, it will show reg pressure now on my M16 and Outlaw. That 22mm hole is hard to do without drill press.[emoji24]ImageImageImageImage
