For the reviews I read and the clearance promotion price plus free shipping with certain amount you spend... I bought some tins of this new to the market domed 177 caliber lead pellets to give it a try too~

In general, it's a good pellet, maybe a replacement you can check it out for the JSB Exact or Express... I am just too lazy to repeat what Duke already done as I trust that result~

So below is something different as my rifles are all PAL rated from about 550fps to lower 800fps range. (sorry, I was lazy again and not done any testing on the muzzle speeds while using this new pellet... :hammer: )

My test was done in my basement range which only has about 9 yards, rifles are as usual rested on the back of my chair and holding in my both hands, scopes are on about 9x to 10x power. And they are my latest acquired HW97K(12fpe), and my 'old' collections including HW30s(5fpe), AA ProSport (12fpe) and the CZ200 PCP (10fpe). No pistols this time. They are all 5 shots groups.



For comparison, I also used the RWS R10 for Rifle (8.2g) with the HW97K shot another group on the same target...

Things I found and noticed in the test...

- Surprisingly my cz200 looks loves this pellet (my cz200 loves the JSB Exact 4.52 only before and it has another pellet to use now)

- Which surprised me again, my never picky HW30 looks not very like it (never minded as the HW30 shoots all my other pellets well~)

- There's an odd flier when using the HW97 (I noticed the cap of the pellet tin is very tight, and maybe over loaded too?! Not sure if I loaded and shot a bad pellet caused that flier)

- It's very hard to push the pellet all in and flush to the breech opening when loading it to my Pro Sport (when loading it into the PS, my finger tip felt the skirt of the pellet is thicker and harder than H&N and the RWS R10. Pushed very hard and can still feel a little of the skirt poked out)

Just waiting to see if anyone else can try this for a longer distance with other guns too... It's a good pellet with a reasonable price tag that do worth a try ~

They shoot decent in your guns. I had the same thing with the very tight pellet tin, and no extra pellets in the tin (by weight) just the foam is touching the pellets and the lid and squeezing the pellets. So it's possible one pellet got a bent skirt when unscrewing the lid - hence the flyer. Shoot some more groups and see if you get any more flyers, cheek for damage before loading of course).

Sorry, not with those pellets, but here are a bunch shot from my full power HW97 in .177, at 20yards.
The best average pellets are the JSB Cometa 8.44gr. 4.51mm. The standard 8.44gr. Exact 4.51's shot at a different time, made roughly
double the sized groups that the Cometa 8.44gr. 4.51's. I did find out last year, that the Cometa 8.44gr. 4.52's shot about the same, from
the same rifle.

Yeah... After I done my thing and closed the pellet tin, I noticed actually when I just pushed down the cap, I found it's already compress on the pellets, so I just barely screw it maybe just half round to close it again...

And I also noticed when closed (including my other unopened tins), you couldn't hear anything when you shaking the tin....

When have time, I definitely will shoot more groups~ at least I didn't try deep seating the HW30, thinks it could make some big difference ~ however, a little bit difficult to check every pellet before loading it... I need reading glasses to see such tiny things now but no need that for aiming... too lazy again....

Yeah, I bought some cometa before, however they were used out for a long time and I just remember they are good~

Mostly I am just plinking, so I actually shoot wadcuttets more than domed... And use domed pellet 'only' when that rifle not at all like my wadcutters (like my cz200)... And so far, this pellet works well like my Exact 4.52~

Actually as above, not includs that odd flier, it prefroms well in my 97 too...

The groups test using / switching different guns in the short time is not very good for the true scores... Will be focusing on one gun and shoot more groups to see how this pellet actually works~

Seating depth as you noted in your post above, may or may not change the accuracy. When finger seating the pellets in my HW98 in .22, I got round groups. If I used a seating tool I
made, to seat them more deeply into the chamber/barrel, the rifle started stringing groups up and down, over about 1 1/2" at a mere 20 yards. I went back to finger seating them, and
back to round groups around the 1/2" range with H&N Barracuda Hunter Extremes. Years later, I found the newer JSB Hades shot even better.

Yeah, just another thing you want to try. Guns really do differently between each other~

I remember I can seat pellet for my 30 because I had good experience before...

And I just did try this and looks it didn't make big difference... The best I had on a 10 shots group actually the ctc is similar but not opened to all around and just opened at up and down directions... However, later on other groups it just very similar to the first initial test... Maybe I need to do some maintenance job on my 30 too... I remember I didn't shoot it too much in the last two years and it may have been sitting in the gun bag for about half year since last time I took it out...

Guns need air now and then. Being encased is usually not good, especially when or if they are subject to condensation.
Too, if you don't take them out now and then and handle, fondle them, they get a bit sulky.

This evening I mainly 'worked' on my PS..... Result is the guy looks loves the Venom too... Shot a few groups just as tiny as a rugged hole and.... Again.... One very strange flier I just couldn't see the hole showed up in my follow-through.... [emoji38] good thing is from the sound I heard. It's on the cardboard paper target and didn't break anything else...

And proved sth else that why we should keep and buy the same lot of pellets... As the old H&N finale finally finished, I opened a new tin of R10 Rifle (8.2g) and my PS suddenly not want to shoot it anymore.... However the pellet quality should be still good because when I switched to the 97K, I got the one hole groups again....

Just have no idea why the PS changed its favor... I remember it shot R10 at one hole before...

In most of my air rifles, it takes at least 5 shots for the gun to settle down after a pellet change.

R-10's are especially picky in this regard- they love their own bore fouling, and nobody else's.

Tried the new tin of R10 for more than 5 groups in my PS before I certified it... Thinking I maybe need to do a barrel cleaning and restart fresh again with the R10, if needed...

The good memory regards the PS&R10 combo is from long time ago. And in the period, the PS just kept shooting the H&N Finale... Maybe this made some changes...

Anyway, the PS is on the Venom now. And R10 for the 97... Still good options~

Oh, forgot one more thing regards the Venom pellets... It looks shiny and clean, but after handling them, my finger tips got black out... Maybe they contains more lead than others?!

Lead "oxide" is not good for you, but "blacking" sounds suspicious. Handling pellets, as in loading, etc, usually will leave some lead on the
fingers, however blacking them sounds like a lubricant? I cast pure lead balls in sizes from .350" up to .740" in diameter and they do not
"black" my fingers. Neither does loading and shooting my springers, but there is some lead 'wash' (grey) on them after handling pellets.
