1st ultra thin coat of Tung Oil on it now. Already looks better - to my eye.

I am not, so sure you were refinishing it or more like giving its first finish. I know when I bought my streamline it came unfinished and I treated it with Boiled linseed oil and was very satisfied with the results.

I am pretty sure they have a 'light' stain on the wood, maybe a stain/filler like Home Hardware sells, but no actual finish.
I'll be putting on another rubbed in coat this afternoon. I wet a finger-tip in the oil, touching the stock in 4 places, then rub that in with the heal of my palm,
then dip again, touch the stock over a bit in another location, rub it in and do that until the whole stock in done.
I have read of others using a cloth, wiping stain all over the stock, then waiting 15 minutes and wiping off the excess. I can see this uses a lot of cloth and
might work just fine, but I do not do it that way. Ultra thin coats, rubbed in works for me. No runs - ever as with this method, runs would be impossible.

FX Classic 3 coats and back together. A little bit darker, but I prefer it. At least it now feels like it has a finish, even in the checkering, which is lovely, BTW.

Tks - it's a little bit darker, a little bit shinier but not much and the checkering quite a darker so.
There was no finish or sealer in the checkering.
It's strange, as received, the manual said it was tuned for best performance with 26gr. pellets.
The port was set at the minimum setting, btu the hammer spring was almost bottomed out and the
regulator pressure was 125bar.
Stuff I've read say 125 is for .22 cal and 135for .25's so I moved it up a bit. The hammer spring is now 1 turn off max & I'm going to shoot
it next time on medium port setting.
I really should chronograph it, but will wait until I'm outside, or Wes gets the FX radar sets in.

Good job Daryl, I like the hand rub technique you used. I got the GRS stock for x mas for my dreamline. I did not have a problem with the old stock on how it looked but it lacks in adjustability. I got a Helix 6-24x50 on another gun right now that is going on the dreamline after squirrel season is over.

That looks good, Tom_ke888. I wanted to keep it dull, as one more coat or 2 maybe would have shined it up more than I wanted.
I may still do that - or not.

Skanzy, looks like you got the .25 as well.(judging by the tube and barrel length)

I have a 6-24X Optisan I thought I might put on mine - don't know yet. Haven't decided.

Well done, Tom. I've thought maybe I made a mistake in not getting a .22. Maybe, maybe not.
5 coats and likely done.
I think I'm going to order a barrel band for it, just to support the barrel against the tank.
Interesting difference with lighting, however both sides look identical in the same light. Maybe need 1 more coat?
