On the Dempster Hwy. in the Yukon, a Raven flew in the updraft in front of a car for 45 minutes....

This has to be some kind of record for slope soaring on a mobile slope!.... Video below (takes a few seconds to load)....

I'm guessing the Raven discovered this accidentally.... I wonder how long it will take before his buddies learn how, and this becomes the way for them to travel long distances for free?.... 8)

Very interesting, thanks for posting!

Ravens and crows are surprisingly intelligent creatures, much is left to discover about them. Quite a few years ago I had an interaction with one, for no reasons he started following me whenever I was out walking. I could walk for 4 or 5 kilometers, he'd always stay close and follow me home, as if he wanted to make sure I'd get home. If I stopped and stared at him he'd start flying over me until I started walking again and go home lol! Someday he stopped following for no apparent reasons, and I never saw him again.

Totally amazing. I had a pet crow whenI was growing up that did all sorts of things to keep us amused, but I've never seen anything like this before.

Thanks for sharing.

Great photo. This is really cool. I never knew about this phenomenon before, but I knew those birds were smart.
