In 2013, I wrote a post stating that my collection was complete because I was running out of space.
(topic57331.html)

I guess I made a liar of myself because I bought several more since then. I suppose I got creative with storage space.

With Bill C21 hanging over our head it may soon become a reality that more replicas will be impossible to obtain. In turn, this means that this time it is true, my collection is now complete.

This is the 2022 Christmas Gift I am giving to myself and it kept me busy since the beginning of December.

I decided to revisit the PowerPoint document of my collection. The last time it was updated was in 2015 and I had several models to add to it.

All the pictures were taken at different times using the daylight coming from a window, I also had a wood ruler in the photo to give the sense of proportion but each airgun was not exactly at the same scale as the next one so for this iteration I wanted something more uniform.

I took a completely new set of photographs. I had a setup to ensure that all the airguns would be at the same scale and I thought that with the artificial lights I had I would be able to minimize variations. I am not a photographer and I should have done more experimentation with the camera before starting. It is only after I transferred a large batch of files on my computer that I discovered that even under the same condition of lighting the camera was introducing some variation.

By then I was not too keen on redoing all the work. So it is what it is.

The plan was to have a large updated PowerPoint document where, for each model, the Firearm's name, the date of production or year of introduction and the info of the corresponding replica are shown. In the end, to keep the pictures at high resolution, I had to break it down into a series of six smaller presentations to control the size of the files.

For the post I had changed the resolution in order to fit with the attachment requirements, but I think it still looks acceptable. I hope that you will enjoy it.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2023 to you and your family.

R-Gun Pete

The series of photos in the next entries will cover my collection of Replica pistols. They were used to recreate the timeline of powder burning handguns.
It goes from the Black Powder Period with examples such as Flintlocks, Percussion Cap and Metallic Cartridges to the Modern Semi-Auto of the early 21st Century.

The two photos below give a sampling of the different types of Replicas found throughout the presentation. (Non-Firing Replicas from Dennix, Airguns (both BBs and Pellets shooting), Airsofts & Paintball Guns and Blank Guns). The white text gives the name of the actual firearm, the black gives the production dates and the yellow text gives the information related to the corresponding replica used as the stand-in. Please note that the production dates for both the firearms and the replicas have not be confirmed by an expert so they are to be taken with a grain of salt.

That's a informative collection and can be put into a museum!

Good job! Well done! Awesome~

Thank you all for the comments.

It had crossed my mind that giving the collection to a museum might be a way to circumvent Bill 21 instead of having it destroyed.

Anyway it is something for the future so for the time being I will continue to enjoy it.

Somebody brought to my attention that there is a Firearms Museum in Quebec.

https://www.musees.qc.ca/fr/musees/guid ... -du-bronze

It might be interesting to visit next summer.

Very cool!
Keep in mind, for PowerPoint use (except for printing same), the max resolution required is 72 ppi

Great collections
I believe it is still allowed for replicas under 495fps as well as all vintage ones
Also airsoft that using plastic BBs (with orange tip) should be allowed anyway...
