The Snowpeak PP800R comes in .25.
I chronied mine around 475 fps with 25gr pellets.
A Reddot sight mounts easily and the trigger is adjustable.
The gun would fit easily in a convenient sling bag and would handily bag grouse or rabbits at the range you can hit them in the head with a pistol. Which would be about 10 yds reliably for me.
Airgun and archery fun carry’s them for just over 200$
They pump up quickly and easily with a cheap Amazon hand pump.
If I could start my air pistol hunting days over again in this day and age that’s what I’d buy
.
I’ve tried a lot of air handguns and frankly this one is the best and most powerful.
I shot a Crosman 357 .177 as a teenager and wounded a lot of animals. .177 just isn’t humane in handgun form. I used a Sheridan .20 for a long time and it would kill but wasn’t that accurate as it was small and has a poor trigger. The 2240 is a great gun but it’s C02 which has cold weather problems.
I shot a Wierauch HW45 for a while and it bagged many squirrels and grouse. It was pellet sensitive for accuracy and not particularly powerful. The spring action made it somewhat erratic in accuracy. It was quite good for the garage but expensive and eventually I sold it to buy a takedown .22 (which is a better choice for hunting than any air pistol).

And that brings me to the PP800R. I wish they’d had these 25 years ago when I started taking air pistols seriously. The .25 pellet packs a heck of a lot more punch. And PCP expels them with some serious force.
PCP isn’t affected by the cold the same way the C02 guns are which takes them out of the equation for me.
A lot of hunting is done in temperatures below what a C02 gun will operate properly at.
The 1322 isn’t a bad choice either but it’s nowhere near as powerful as a PCP .25
Until they make a .30 PCP pistol the .25 PP800 is as good as it gets for hunting.
