I am using JSB Exact 4.52 for my P17. Should I try 4.51?
JSB Express is accurate but at shorter distance.

4.52 is the most common, IMO. But if it isn't grouping to your satisfaction, then trying a different head size is a logical next step. If the 4.52 are snug, then 4.51 may shoot better, maybe even try 4.50. But, if the 4.52 are already loose, maybe go up to 4.53 :drinkers:

Exactly - as with ML shooting, the experimentation actually never ends. There is always something else to try.

The head size is what blows me away.....Unless one orders online, you get what is available at your location. This forum is great, I can't imagine how many tins of trial and error pellets need to be tested. Then again, still fun until you find the perfect one and hope they never discontinue them?

I mostly use R10 for my HW40 and P3 if I need very very accuracy at the time... Otherwise I just use anything handy as they are accurate anyway and not picky at all...

If have to be JSB, they shoot RS very well and the Exact... Have no idea the Express just has a slightly bigger hole...

And.... For the 400ish maximum muzzle speed, how far are you going to shoot?

The 4.52mm JSB Exact 8.44gr shot great from my P17. Very accurate.

Check these old links. The 4.52mm JSB Exact 8.44gr pellets was used.

Thanks for replies so far. The 4.52 -8.44g does give small tight groups at 22-24 feet. The lighter Express best at 18 feet .
My next order with Dan may include 4.51. I'm not so sure about 4.50 or 4.53 though.
More thoughts from P17 owners is appreciated.

The 4.52mm JSB Exact shot fine out to 50 yards with my P17. See two links above. The slow moving pellet doesn't do well with any wind or air movements but on a calm day you can easily plink cans at 20-30 yards. An 8" pie plate or large coffee can is a good target for 50 yards.

Figuring this part out is half the fun. Out of the whole 'Exact' family (tried 'em all), my Weihrauch HW40 likes a healthy diet of Exact RS.
I have yet to shoot a P17, but I understand that they very similar pistolas.
