I believe the third is your wife? They will call and ask her question as they did with my brother-in-law.

Please let us know how it goes.

Are you applying for an RPAL?

I'm wondering if they have stopped issuing these?

I’m only applying for a PAL,
They are still doing the RPAl courses, according to the instructors there are still a bunch of long guns that are restricted, to me I believe they just wanted us to do the RPAL, I went to Cabela’s to get a daisy red Ryder and they don’t even sell airguns like pistols and fully auto rifles, only single shot break barrels. I don’t see a point of getting an RPAL right now

If you ever plan on getting an rpal it's easier doing it all at once. Going back to do a second course is a pain. We'll see if the rpal is even an option in the future.

Currently:

Restricted Firearms: Possession & Acquisition

This licence will allow you to purchase non-restricted and restricted firearms, plus any classes of prohibited firearms that you are eligible to acquire.

You must pass both the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Firearms Safety Course. If you completed the original Canadian Firearms Safety Course Exam (the full one which included long guns and handguns) between 1993-1999, you should not have to write the current exams. The fee for this licence is about $80 for five years. Quebec residents need to bring a separate form to their local police when applying for this type of licence. These licences are available to Americans (or any foreigner) but they must meet the same conditions as Canadian citizens.

They (the government people) still have to make the RPAL accessible for employment purposes, such as armed guards/Brinks types of jobs and I think for competitive shooters.
My boss is an instructor and is still doing limited courses. My RPAL took 4 months to go through and arrive in the mail.... exactly 2 days after the "freeze" went into place.
