My girlfriends daughter competed in her first Zone Cadets Marksmanship competition today. She brought home the gold. I said in a previous post when I bought my TX200 that I wanted to be able to beat her at 10 meters, I might have my work cut out for me.

Her mother has been driving them all 35 minutes to practice with army cadets twice a week now for the last four weeks. They only have 4 cadets in her group. They haven't had anyone attend a marksmanship competition in many years, let alone win a medal.
We are very proud of her.

Congratulations!

I coached some young ladies who were in the process of moving from X-country skiing to biathlon, and many other girls and young women.

I slice of reality is that youth, talent, superior eye & hand coordination make it a faint hope for old men to gain their admiration. LOL

Learn to live with it.

Add to that, they will listen to instruction and aren't set in their ways like some of us old dogs... lol

GREAT news. Well done, Beth. A tough row to hoe for the old guy now, eh?

Congratulations Beth on a job well done. Now go get the ol' guy - LOL!

NovaNewfie - I agree you will now have your work cut out for you, but you will create a ton of family memories in the process. I get to visit my brother and niece once or twice a year and she likes nothing better than trying to outshoot her uncle. She was enjoying it so much I gave her my Beeman R9 a few years ago as I didn't want to give her an excuse of not being able to practice enough for our family competitions. FAMILY MEMORIES - PRICELESS!

Keep up the good shooting.

Bill.

Congratulations Olivia! I wish you much continued success.
Thanks for posting this NovaNewfie and showing us some hope that some young people (and especially young women) enjoy shooting sports.
Very inspirational.

Congratulations. She looks like she is very happy and darn proud of herself. That is very important as well.

Congrats from a fellow retired Cadet! That will be the first of many, and you have your work cut out for you!

Congrats!

Great to see something like this.

By the rifle in the photo, things have come a long ways since the busted extractor Lee Enfield Sht. No. 1 Mk 111 .22 LR trainers we Air Cadets worked with in the early 70's. Anything would be an improvement over those.
