I started entertaining with an idea "what about if I would make my own slugs?"
I would not cast but I may go pressing from wire. A friend has a machine shop and also have couple presses from he's reloading hobby I may get one from him.
Where could I buy lead wire for punching press .22 and .25 slugs?

I use a section of 1” SST tubing to pour lead slugs about 3” long
These drop into a cylinder made of 2” solid bored out to 1”
A die piece fits in one end with a smooth tapered entry and a hole the size required
A 1” solid piece is used to push on the lead in a 30 ton press
Out comes the wire
