I am new to this forum. I recently purchased two Yumarex airguns, and one Barra. I bought the Smith and Wesson model 29 8 inch barrel, the Colt single action army, and the Schofield 3

There are few decent pictures of any of these airguns online, so I have put a few together. I am a professional photographer, and can do this with relative ease. These guns are so beautifully made, it’s helpful to see some very good detail pictures of them.

regarding the plastic grips on these guns, I will describe what I did to make them beefier and more solid feeling, and to get rid of that squishy squeak. It’s unfortunate that Yumarex and Barra don’t put real wood grips, because they’ve done such a superb job in every other way.

I used plumbers putty and 4.5 mm BBs. I used a popsicle stick to spatula in the putty in all of the recesses in the grips, and including taking off the right side grip. And then I squished BBs into the plumbers putty, which gave everything even more mass. Then I put the grips back on, and took them off again to see where I had even more room that I could squeeze putty into. This had the effect of making the grips seem so dense and solid, that if you tap them, you don’t get that plastic sound anymore. So now the guns feel substantial to hold.

Thank you.

I just took delivery of a Denix buntline. It’s not anywhere near the quality of what Umarex is doing.

I forgot to add , that I used a Q-tip with a drop of 3-1 oil around the grip surface edge where it meets the other grip on the frame, and that totally eliminated any squeaky. Now, with that and the putty and bb’s, it is extremely firm feeling to hold, as if it really were a wood grip
