so today i checked out the good will store to see if i could find any good target items to shoot at. and i saw this nice little steel bell. it was only $2.00 bucks. i figure if i hang it by a string it would make a good dinging sound when hit. it was tarnished almost black--(it,s not silver.) so i got my silver polish out-- and it came out to a beautiful silvery shine. i didn,t wan,t to shoot it-- but then thought-- if i bring it in the house and ring it. she who is all evil would not come running with my snacks any way. so shooting it will probably be the best outcome. double click for bigger pic.

It does look too good to shoot. Leave it outside for a while let it get rusty, then you can shoot it. :drinkers:

Looks it's too big to be shot inside the garage or basement..... Effortless ' challenge' except you are just going to shoot the handle??. :)

i,m not sure bob. it is only 4" high and 2"& 5/8 round at the bottom. it has a good weight to it and sounds nice and loud. kinda reminds me of the little ones that priests and altar boys used to ring in church if i remember correctly from years ago. and-- it also has a real small --hong kong sticker inside it. i added it to my shelf where it will collect dust with my other collectibles.

Seems to me, the school bells in elementary school were brass, but that one could easily be an old school bell.

Most bell ringing targets do not allow the bell to be hit directly , they rely on the splash directed to them by a deflector of some fashion . This prevents damage and deformation to the resonator .
