After countless calls to CFP and the Ontario divisions, number of emails I finally get my PAL confirmed and will get it in hand in couple week! :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers:
My buddy helped me ordered some PAL rated air rifles (PCP/Springs, more than he owned himself :P ) under his name and they were kept in his safe for months, finally I am able to get them once I have the card mailed in--it is a big relief for both of us as he will need to go to home town in summer and I am able to taking care of all we had in my place for safety. I do have a question in this case--do I need to do a transfer or call CFP while getting these from my friends?

Also there is a TIP, CFP Officers will call once they got the application--it could be very soon. My buddy submit PAL request along with me last April, and he got a call from CFP/RCMP Officer at June--just about 2 and half months, and he verified all questions so he got PAL at just the beginning of last July. However, the same day I got a call from a PRIVATE NUMBER, which I believe this is also CFP/RCMP Officer as my buddy told me that was what he got too, and I didn't pick the call.
NOW YOU SEE, A MISSED CALL COST 8 MONTHS EXTRA as well as countless follow ups...
So here it is--if you are applying and waiting, suggest you take any call from any private numbers and don't miss anything untill you got your confirmation of approval!!

That's a good heads up for ppl~

And looks maybe due to the dear leader tighten up the gun laws and they started this new process?? I remember at my time getting the R.PAL, I didn't had such a call for me and didn't heard ppl getting such a call from the office... Just in some special cases the office will call the person and the reference names...

At that time I attended the course and submitted application by the end of 2019. About 3 months later I contacted my trainer to seek when usually ppl could get this plastic cards and was told maybe 3 months to half a year... Then about 6 months later by the end of 2020 April I called the office and was told my application had been sent to the factory to make the card... And a month later I got it in the mail box...

Years ago now, I spoke to a close friend, a retired S.Sgt. RCMP about the delays I was having with my 'special' P.A.L. He informed, me that the 'branch' had instructed the "members" to
put every impediment into the licensing system they could think of. I saw no reason to dispute this with him at the time."
One thing that is not asked for, for those renewing with Restricted and/or 12/6 P.A.L.'s, is you should attach a photo-graph of your club membership card. This alone will help "speed" things up.

I am not sure how the CFP or RCMP is connected with other Government and Public Servants, but my FX liner stuck in Customs (50 Km from my Home) and according to tracking number not moving since Mar.30th.

You need to check if you got a seize letter from the custom then. I ordered a FAKE TOY SUPPRESSOR earlier this year for my son's toy gun and it is SEIZED by the custom, how stupid it is! And they ask for proof of purchase and item details for dispute. Unfortunately, the order, from AliExpress was canceled due to excess waiting time thus I cannot get any proof--at least AliExpress gave me $18 credit in the system for that.
Anyway I didn't understand how the system works now!

Understand, the thing I can think of and after research is: it is an aluminum hard tube with empty inside and some decorations make it looks better--it does able to be convert to a real suppressor but frankly speaking, any tubes with that size can be even it is a PVC!!!

I bought a "fake" suppressor from a shop in town here, designed for air soft rifles. I thought it might look cool on a PCP rifle I no longer have, but I needed to make an adapter
for the 14mm left hand thread that the device had. Got to looking at it about a year ago (that rifle long gone) & how it might be viewed by an inspection 'team', even though the
'factory box' had the words Suppressor & a circle around it had a slash through the word. I figured this item, even if mistaken for a real suppressor, would give "them" cause to
seize ALL of my guns, stack them in trunks of police cars (they do throw them) & badly damaging ALL of them. Thus, I destroyed it and the pieces went out with the garbage.
It was nicely designed too, being all metal construction, both end-caps theaded & was in the $65.00 range, iirc. It had foam inside.

Atlas the guns were purchased under a PAL. not your own, any change in ownership of an unrestricted gun will need approval. My last gun that I sold 3 weeks ago I used the online port hole to obtain the transfer number. Here is the link, if you have an online back account in Canada, it easy to sign in. The port hole was not working 5 weeks ago and I had to use the call in method. Much more information is needed when you call it in.

I am in the process of renewing my PAL (started over 6 months ahead) and recently got a letter rejecting my photo.... I was VERY careful to make sure it met all the online requirements for an electronic photo, but it was rejected.... I wonder if they are not accepting electronic (even though the website says they do) because of the possibility of fakes?.... Anyways, I went to Shoppers and got a Passport photo, just sent it in, we'll see if they have another reason to delay?....

It seems with foam it do reduces sound--even 1 db it is regard as a REAL SUPPRESSOR, however the one I ordered is just a straight tube...

I don't want anything to do with a suppressor or any sort, real or fake.

That sucks, Bob. I plan on the Passport photo next year when I renew mine - along with the $85.00 charge for the P.A.L.
