I don't know much about CO2. After getting a Morini to seal up for a friend, I was shooting a few air pistols today. My TAU-7s seem to work better on bulk co2. Can you still get bulk co2? How does one go about getting it or what do I need.

Here is a blast from the past, lots of good info for you. And yes any paintball shop can supply
CO2, some CT stores as well. Generally, a 20 oz or bigger bottle and some simple fittings are all you need.

Thank you
Unfortunately it being an old topic, none of the links work.

Check to see if you have a PraxAir or other company that sells bulk gases. Possibly check with your local safety supply stores to see where they recommend getting CO2 fire extinguishers filled. Also call your local paintball shops.

Hopefully you have all the fittings to bulk fill the TAU-7. You will need to use the 125g or 150g steel TAU transfer bottle to fill the pistol. The newer style is 150g with the green painted end. The older style is the 125 gram and all grey in colour. You need the special fill adapter to fill the grey transfer bottles. It looks like this:

You can buy or rent a 5 pound to 50 pound bulk tank. I think our local PraxAir will rent the 20 and 50 pounders. They sometimes have smaller 5 or 10 pounders for sale. Attach the fill adapter to the master tank. Also attached the bulk fill end cap to the pistol's reservoir. Fill small grey transfer bottle from master tank and then fill pistol using transfer bottle. You will get several fills from a grey transfer bottle.

The TAU-7 also works great with 12 gram powerlets. Use a smear of moly paste on the cap threads and it will be easy to puncture the bulbs. Dry threads make turning difficult.

Many years ago I did a review of my first TAU-7. The review covers some details on bulk filling. You might be able to access it at this link.

Good thread. Paint Ball shops - I'll check the one that attempted to overcharge me for compressed air, and see if they
can fill my 12 ounce tanks and for how much $$.
I have 2 of those tanks, for my Gauntlet .22. A full tank will give close to 600shots.

Got a 20lbs tank from a restaurant place
- Can also be used for refilling sodastream bottles and as inert gas for the welder
