i was on my way up town-- and i heard about this boat being towed through the canal today. so i took a detour and caught some pics while it was docked. it is the ss keewatin --built in 1907-- it,s the worlds last titanic-era passenger steamboat. it is headed to kingston for repairs--where it will be open for tours. pretty cool. double click for bigger pic.

WOW - quite a large "ship". Is it as well "appointed" inside as the Titanic was, ie: luxury class?

i looked online. theres quite a bit about it and a lot of pics of the interior that look really great. i don,t know if it still looks the same. it,s older than the titanic was. titanic--1911. keewatin --1907. back in the day it looked pretty elegant. heres a few pics i found online.

Beautifully appointed. Quite similar, in fact to the Titanic.

a few weeks ago i took a pic of the old passenger ship in the canal. well i took another drive by yesterday. and docked in the exact same spot as the old one-- but heading the other way. we fast forward about 100 years --and here is what you get. here is 2 pics of the old and the new. a bit of a difference--i would say. double click for bigger.
