After a mishap on a B18/B19 style break barrel where the barrel got bent up severely, i managed to fix/straighten the barrel back to shootable AND repeatable precision. I wasnt so lucky with the scope as the impact was violent enough to completely destroy it's inner guts...

Used a dental flask manual hydraulics press with whatever shims i could find. Worked great!

That yielded good results! Good job, be careful with the hair trigger. :drinkers:
I've straightened a barrel using a similar technique, with bar clamps and wood blocks on a workbench. Without a press, its difficult to get a lot of force, but it works. The "older folks", just use a Y in an tree and brute force but you have much more control with equipment. :drinkers:

Trying to get a smoothbore to shoot with the bore. It was shooting low, thus needed to be bent upwards.
After this proceedure, the barrel was not bent. Had to use an aspen tree - whack! That worked.
This is a solid core door for a bench top. note the upward bend in it.
I am assuming air rifle barrels are softer steel.

I must admit, the trigger itself has very little to do with the 'mishap' - the blame is entirely on me for being an idiot, trying to demonstrate the anti bear trap mechanism to a relative. I somehow forgot, for a brief moment, that mechanisms such as the many different safeties on guns/rifles exist to prevent an unfortunate situation from occurring and that they are not to be relied upon as factual truths.

Imagine a dummy, myself in this case, squeezing the trigger with attitude, confidence, force and a big self-validating smile. That face abruptly vanished when the action/barrel slapped back shut with conviction and rage, to finally end up unlocked, bent and bruised.

I've had better days, thats for sure!
