I have been looking at the areas where the buyers of my guns live. Being in the Niagara Region all are North of me. Some with a single highway were there option is North or South surrounded by mountains. A place i would like to live till I see the January temps.

I know right? Cold weather climate sucks.....I'm months from retiring and am looking to relocate but, I have it real good where I live now. :drinkers:

Where can I go to escape the "system" and no longer pay property tax? I made sacrifices to be able to live in a nice house. I pay almost double property tax than my neighbors yet we both share the same streetlight, paved road, water and sewer etc.....Property tax is theft!

Some have solved the problem. Some immigrants and perhaps some longtime Canadians have discovered that building a large residence and having multiple family members and family groups and generations living under one roof leads to one school and one property tax bill amounting to much less than the rest of us suckers pay.
Where I lived 3 years ago in a BC area we even had the district decide that since we had a larger tax base and revenue we should pay for others' parks and fire protection on an unequal basis because we are just so kind. This when seniors in those areas were only paying 200-300 in total tax after provincial credits. Since they could not afford another few bucks we got to pay it.
