Some really good information here.

Take note, you still need better than average eyesight, steady hands and calm nerves....

Or just learn to shoot a pistol.

Hardest 'arm' to shoot accurately.

Most of the guys in my club have pretty bad eyesight but that doesn't seem to hinder scores.

I'm finding, at arms length, the sights are still OK to see & the target is quite clear too. Before, the target would be quite fuzzy but I still shot as well when I had
good eye sight.
When I have found now, with these new-fangled red-dot sights, is I have to wear my glasses or all I see is a slanted red line (astigmatism).

The problem of shooting pistols are: while pulling trigger, no matter how steady your hand is, it will be some movement--especially while the trigger is bit hard. So you need a lot of practice to compensate that move--and different range will be different compensation.
For target practice in 10-20 yards, the tiny move will cause over 1/4" to 1/2" drift to left/right side depending which hand you are using.

When shooting from an unsupported position you just have to accept you are going to move and learn how to shoot under that condition. Even in prone your heartbeat will cause you to move.

Good information shared here guys! :D

I taught my wife to shoot my 45ACP semi auto and she ended up being a natural. I drew a few p[ictures how to use the iron sights and how to relate it to the target. After 5 mags she surprised the living crap out of me. She had no use for pistols until the Sons Of Anarchy series come out and she saw Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller) fire off her blow back semi auto 9mm?

My brother on the other hand, couldn't hit at barn at 10ft. (yet his son is a police officer)
Give my brother a rifle and go hunting with him, you need to be on your game to even think of being compared to him. His son can't compete with his hunting ability either.

I think some are natural/gifted and some need to fire thousands of rounds to catch on to shooting pistols?

I'm certain there is something to this. Opposite for me. My love is for rifle and I give it my best but I'm more proficient with pistol with much less effort.

[emoji38] That's true... Exactly like my love is making money, however obviously I am good at spending money as it costs me much less effort to do so~ :drinkers: [emoji38]
