I just checked and seems not available in Canada yet. Also it is not cheap, $400 USD in Pyramydair. This is a gas ram, which have much less recoil from spring already. As well as the ZRS system is actually just allowing the barrel to move to absorb the double friction move from power plant--I can say this mechanism shall work but in the long run, since barrel is moving, it might getting more and more errors from the barrel itself, as well as it may lose air tight by this design--which means less power from time to time as I can see from the video it SMOKES from the chamber already while the barrel is moving.
BTW the cost is equal to a entry level PCP, and beyond the BUDGET category we are talking

Interesting. 1400 fps in 177 and retains some form of accuracy. Diana54 kind of tech. Very interesting indeed.

Didn't have time to watch the video in the busy morning yet...

Moving the barrel not the whole action+barrel part? That's a new design~ Maybe a 'budget' design compare to the sledge system we seen before... Interesting design~

However still adds some extra to just a simple break barrel...

That is probably an old design in a newer dress, anshultz have a similar system, it has a small hydraulic dampening system that absorb the shock of the recoil. https://forum.vintageairgunsgallery.com ... utz-lg250/

The moving design of the action and barrel is pretty much identical to the FWB Match rifles - 300 and 150's, except the scope in this instance if on a 'shroud'
around the action.
That shot that went 1,420fps was a diesel shot - obviously. If you had watched the video, you would have seen it shooting VERY accurately, almost as well as an HW97 in .177.
$400.00 US is still well under the price of a Weihrauch, but I would much rather save a few more pence and buy the HW.

The rotated snowman like 5 shot group @ 20 yards, I think it was 20, certainly got my attention. Wish they would show multiple 10 shot groups to get a better indicator of consistency.

It did very well at 19 yards at the beginning (that almost one hole group in signing in...) But looks later it couldn't repeat such a good accuracy... Maybe still need another hundred or more shots to run in the new rifle~

And not only the barrel moving~ the whole barrel and power plant moving... Only the top cover for the scope rail stay still... It shouod be very scope friendly as stated~

The video should remove the top cover to let us see what's under it~

I spent some time today with a real BUDGET priced air rifle. This Phantom has seen some tuning but no expensive parts were added. The only additions were a piston liner made from recycle plastic material, a longer trigger adj screw (cheap), new breech washers from Home Depot (cheap), and a shorter spring spacer made from aluminum. The plastic muzzle brake was from crosman.ca and is just an aesthetic thing.

I measured out 100 yards and set up a Black & Decker Workmate to use as a shooting bench. I ended up shooting 13 groups of 5 shots each because three groups had flyers from the wind. The wind blew just when I released shots on these groups so I cut them out of the target paper. They were not a fair representation for this $100 budget rifle.

I plan to try the 100 yard shooting again when I can get a calmer day. The annoying wind kept gusting so I had to wait for calmer periods. I'm thinking the average group size will drop a bit when it's calm. Maybe closer to 3" is possible for an average at 100.

100 yard groups (5 shots)
3.98, 2.50, 3.96, 4.45, 3.88, 3.44, 4.20, 4.12, 2.30, 4.41 = 3.72" ctc average

There is another video review on pyramydair for .22cal using JSB 18.13gr. You can see the power is consistant, from 15.3 to 15.7 FPE however, the group is not impressive--and the test is on bench rest. I'm not sure if it is just not like the JSB or .22 is less accurate than .177. And yes both barrel and action is moving as once you pull trigger the barrel moving backward, and once release triger the barrel moving forward.

A fixed barrel under lever has the potential to outperform the B18 types. A few ppl have had some success with the WF600 model. I can't say it's the most accurate but it could be. Airmec has an extensive thread that is a sticky on tuning.

It came to mind when i was browsing Aircollector website, if it was a .22 cal i would give it a go and convert it to gas ram as well. Fortunately, it's a .177 and my "Good Duke" angel said I don't need another rifle right now.

The WF-600 is a nice little underlever. They often need some tweaking but they can be greatly improved with very little expense. My .177 example now shoots 640fps with 8gr pellets. On my last accuracy test I got a bit over 1.5" average at 50 yards. Not bad for a $100 rifle.

I'd like to see what a tuned .177cal HW97 or TX-200 would do at 50 and 100 yards. They are not BUDGET rifles but it would give a comparison.

Very nice 50 yard group Mac! Thanks for posting.
What's the center-to-center measurement? Is that about typical for your TX-200?

This morning was excellent for shooting groups so I drove out to my favourite area to test the .177cal Phantom again. First I tried the 100 yard distance and averaged 3.82"ctc over 6 groups (5 shots each). This is very close to the 3.72" average that I shot a couple of days ago. I guess that's what this rifle will do using the H&N FTT pellets. I was hoping for a bit better.

I moved the target board to 50 yards and shot 6 groups using the H&N FTT followed by a single 10-shot group. The average for the 10-shot group was 1.35"ctc. The 6 groups were as flollows:

1.03, 0.53, 1.11, 0.73, 0.64, 0.87 --- Average = 0.82" ctc

NOTE: the 10-shot group has one flyer that went slightly left. The other 9 shots are a hair under an inch.

That is when I was testing for the best pellet. This pellet won by a fair margin so I felt measuring was not necessary. The centre dot is either 5 or 6 mm, just for an estimate. I never shoot off a bench, so not sure if that is the best the gun can do. If I can keep the groups under .75" at 50, shooting from ft sitting position, I figure I can hit most 45+ targets on the ft course and I have been hitting them. I miss when I guess the wind wrong or move at the wrong moment. The gun always seems to do its part, so you know the problem.
